Comic Relief?

Watching the movie I noticed some comic relief. I personally didn't care about it. I wouldn't care if it had it or if it didn't. However Now that I think about it. I think it would have made the movie a little scarier. For example, when the mohawk dude and the glasses dude(I forget their names) went to the head/tomb room. They ruined the scene. After all that suspense building, mohawk dude ruined it with his tobacco. Then as if that's bad enough glasses dude treats the hammerpede(worm thing) like its some puppy. Without all this, it would have made the scene so much more suspenseful and scarier. Don't get me wrong, I loved Prometheus. But I think the comic relief was a little unnecessary since this is a horror/thriller that's rated R.

Who in their right mind would have been anywhere near the room with black ooze locked away for 2000 years.... No one that's the answer. Why not guide them back to the entrance chamber, and monitor for activity?

its a classic scene ,messing around leads into horror. these 2 ( sean harris and rafe spall ) were excellent hopeless recruits to the mission. i saw a lot of humour in it for instance Janek singing cant always get want you want before bedding vickers. this film will be seen as both a seller and a classic :)

How come Mohawk and Glasses were afraid of dead bodies that weren't going to harm them. Yet they go in the room with black ooze and worm thingies. Yeah, it doesn't make sense. @Private I like the humor, but I like it at the right times.

@Space-Jockey; I especially loved how Milburn was so scared of the "things" that burst out of the dead SJ heads YET was super eager to touch the snake creature. For all he knew that was the thing that killed the SJ..

Agreed. While its true that humour can create horror, I would rather not have had it. It certainly ruined the temple scene more than anything. I was even annoyed with one of them joking about "Martian piss". Just not funny and ruins the suspense if the characters are too busy trying to be funny.
