Did the 'grown up' alien have ACID FOR SWEAT or some sort of ACIDIC SURFACE SECRETION enabling him to effectively slither and mutate his never fixed body shape through walls.
I know it might only be the impression I got, thanks to Scott not SHOWING the monster all the time, but this is one of the reason I so disliked the way Aliens BROKE THE MYTHOS because they were 'clearly' just 'blokes in costumes', where as the original alien was some sort of EXTRA-ABILITIES freak of acid nature.
Ya know?

Possibly, But it's long tail and strong robust head would do the job just fine.
Also it could be possible that the Alien in ALIEN is very clever and prefer using his environments instead of going out at the walls: creating acid for the dissolving of walls is 1 a great risk in space and 2 a waste in energy when you have only got 7 passengers to kill (Asch being a robot, Kane being dead and the cat being counted as a passenger).

That's my position, it did not and was not able to walk through walls or at least I never saw one do it or do it in the manner you described...and for me it would be a bad move because it seems to me it would defy the rules of science as we know them if it could.

MemberOvomorphJun-10-2012 10:19 AMCool,
this is just the impression Scott's DON'T SHOW ALIEN gave me, that it coud 'use its swear or secretion' to remain in stealth; you know what they say about 'not showing it is worse than showing it'.
For example: the alien in the above GIF is transforming, and the one in Alien might also have been able to, in secret, between ducting and wires.
That was always THE ALIEN THREAT, for me, that it could do SOMETHING EXTRA (in an acidic way) with its biology, its genes.

MemberOvomorphJun-17-2012 2:46 AMactually, I'm having great difficulty finding the RED FILTERED (Oxford Boat Song choir'd) opening sequence to the amazing little 'elitist' Wild Street Pictures film Society (1989).
If anyone knows where a clip of this scene is, please url me.
