The large white humans are not The Engineers IMO

I think that the space jockeys are Androids that were created by an even higher being...but they STILL could be [i]our[/i] creators/engineers though. Or maybe the higher beings created the androids/space jockeys first and then us humans later on? Making us and the Space Jockeys siblings.

I believe that they could be clones... and also that, yeah, they would see females as an unauthorized incubator....heh

I was thinking the same thing, except not clones. Their roles and appearance seem more like engineered lifeforms, similar to how Humans engineered David and Ash, only completely biological. They are performing dangerous jobs where hazardous substances change worms into proto face-huggers, and being deposited on remote worlds where they "willingly" ingest a substance that seems to convert them into the building blocks for new life. It seems unlikely members of a race as advanced as the Engineers would need or want to do any of those things themselves.

When you look at the Big Head in the Black-goo room it doesn't resemble the SJ's. I was entertaining the theory that this is a statue of the real Engineer(s).

Maybe they were looking for their creators and fought they were aliens?

NO...2 reasons the lare white humanoids are not Androids: 1. They have DNA. The beginning of the film showed that the substance the Engineer ingested de-constructed his DNA and then it started re-constructing it in the waterfall, and multiplying/dividing in order to create us presumably. Synthetics are synthetic for a reason --They aren't really "alive", they have no DNA. They are made to look like us, but that's it. 2. They were all wearing helmets with their space suits on their ship. Helmets are not needed if you are synthetic. The only reason David wore his helmet was to make the others of his "kind" comfortable. The Engineers would have no reason for that. However they may just be a different type of Android though. I do think that they were definitely worshiping and/or subservient to a higher being because when you look at that face statue, it does not look like them. In fact, it looks more like us than it does of them...which is strange. Maybe the true Engineers look just like us...either way I do believe they were probably workers for a higher being.

Yeah sorry guys. The credits read. Sacrificial Engineer & Last Engineer. Think that kind of sums it up. Unless you think Ridley is tricking you... Eeerrr?

Why trick? He wouldn't need to do anything except let the people believe what they want early on...

Also... the True Engineer (my term) may even be a machine intelligence.

they left a dark skinned old "engineer if you want" giving the sacrificial goo to the pale skinned young athlete in the first sequence of the movie out is that just an older engineer/spacejockey? and for me the big dumdum did look like the white large humanoids
