They need to get busy with the lore

It's great that we are discussing all this here, and also the Weyland Industries website is really great with some nice Easter Eggs.... but I believe there is some missed opportunity by the industry in this regard. If the franchise is to continue and there are to be sequels then, for once, let's not have a long drawn out pause in content. Treat it like an MMO for example... What I mean is there are a LOT of unanswered questions in the movie and there are many relatively cheap ways of retaining long term interest with some meaningful easter eggs that require effort to find, even if on the original website. I do realize the new what is 10.11.12 is doing this, but I'd hate for that to be the last of the new content. I think a lot of this could concentrate on revealing the reasoning on weyland's part. Not only is he a very interesting character, but in revealing the puzzle of his own memoirs we could find out what exactly he was thinking- or misinterpreted. Obviously he did not find the meaning of the glyphs and graphics left behind otherwise he would have known more of what he was getting into... my own theories aside, and I know it's early on, but I figured I'd send my own little 'yeah go go go!' out into the ether for what it's worth...

Lots of value to your idea my friend..His memoirs? If he had some one to give him some good feed back, he would have had gotten his immortality. Capture a spaceship, learn about the sleep chambers (2000 years?) and the goo will keep everyone busy....But no, he makes a foolish play and throws a trillion dollar away

Eh... I wouldn't make that critique considering the massive amount of advancement that Weyland quasi-imposed on humanity. I believe I remember from the website that roughly 15 percent of all humans work for Weyland Industries. Even if his motivations were selfish ("I don't wanna die"), which I'm not sure they always were (why, then, bring a 'true believer') since we only see him interacting as a deathbed old man with immediate issues... he and his company still raised the bar. Some of the website stuff is corporate propaganda and made to appear that way, but it still rings true with the ties to the military and hiring of veterans etc etc... there's a pretty big, interesting universe that is being fleshed out. It'd be a shame to just let it fade.

I understand your view and fully agree, yet unless Hollywood sees the green backs in starting this new intermediate Prometheus campaign they will concentrate on the movie and that entails. I wish they would... like novelizations, etc... I would like that...
