I betcha anything that the creature in the chair of the derelict juggernaut in 'Alien' is none other than a separate race of being..... And the "engineers" of Prometheus have simply highjacked their technology.... Would also explain the size difference in the chair scene..... Thoughts?
The engineers stole the creation of life from Their "masters" and created us. Two thousand years ago the engineers decided to wipe our race out as we were becoming more akin to themselves which in there eyes would see mankind one day steeling the "throne" from them. At that moment the "masters" attack the "Bio instillation" and wipe out all but one engineer using Xenos.
Two thousand years later we arrive.. And try and steel what they intended to destroys us for in the first place....
