Anyone know what the inscription says?

MemberOvomorphJan-17-2013 6:52 AM I didn't see the inscription. Others with greater skills can probably to that.
The subject of Charlie's ring is of interest.
He may have removed it not for practical reasons but in hopes taht it may be of some interest to Shaw.
In a moment's flassh Holloway knewe something was happenning inside his body and it wasn't a good thing. As a person that is thinking about suicide gives away personal items, sort of last wish kind of thing, Charlie may feel that his ring a symbol of his relationship to Shaw would be later discovered.
It was his way of joining Shaw in the future knowing he would not be a physical part of it.
At our movie's ending there are only two things that Shaw carries with her to the next stop: Her Father's Cross and Charlie's ring.
Armed with those two remberences(and her Faith) Shaw is now ready to battle the Engineers for the future of the Universe.
OK I might have got carried away...

MemberOvomorphOct-31-2021 12:56 PMHi, it's not very important. You can see the inscription at 1 : 30 : 23 in the film, it's written Capt A C Holloway, surely it is a family signet ring, an inheritance that Charlie gives to Elizabeth although it is not a child.
