i believe they were created and are a sexual and have no gender, thats why they need us humans to create other living beings, like cuddles to then get xenos etcetera. so i assume they are infertal

could be that the saucer we see in the beginning are the real rulers and gods if you like and the engineers are as i said just pawns, artificial life created in their purpose. to answer your quistion of the egg vs chicken, the chicken came first who then created the egg. it is proven actually. they found fecies in the eggshell itself and that hences that it must come out of a chicken than the other way around. i am pretty sure i read an article about ridley scott saying he didn´t want us to meet our gods in prometheus 1, we wanted us to want to see them and then presto in sequel 2 or 3 they will be introduced. this is anyway just a ground starter for a much deeper universe to come from sir ridley
