Engineers just Artificial Life?

Hi guys, just saw in another post the idea of the engineer being what david is to us humans, just another artificial life. i would like the idea that they were created in looks of there creators (saucer people). since maybe the saucer people are way more advanced than humans, the Engineers are not Synthetic but really alive and have proper dna. thats why when infected by cuddles it still creates the proto xeno we know. the only thing i don´t quite get is the different looks of 2 engineers , the sacrificed one has only human trades and the one at the end coming out of hypersleep has more biomechanical trades, except if it is just a space suit he whore to always stay alert when he wakes up. would be great to see that they started of as human and then merged with technology through the help of the black goo. any thoughts? since the idea behind it is great. david wanted his parents dead, did the engineer want that aswell then? is the theme of prometheus steeling fire meant that the Engineer stole from his parents the fire to create humans and at the very end the xenos , to slowly but surely kill of his parents. don´t know if that can really mix together but its only theory anyway....

jdax who cares about grammar in here. i might be english but live my whole life now in germany and don´t have perfect spelling and writing, its a internet forum and not school . so please ditch the comments on how people write. would of been nicer if you would of just put your own idea to my theory or something that contributes to this discussion. your post was pointless so to say xD

That's some deep shit, though. It's like "What made God?" Hypothetically it's an endless cycle. Though the idea of the Engineers being artificial beings themselves would make for a good plot device.

The sacrificial engineer died, billions, or at least many hundreds of millions of years ago. SJ tech hasn't stood still, apparently. The biomechanical surface details on the "last engineer," look very organic; [i]not[/i] like the environmental suits we see in the corridor adjacent to the bridge. I think they're physically part of him.

so it could be that they broke the barrier and managed what we didn´t . we created david but he is still not human just mechanical in a better way. and with the engineers its the other way around, they are human at the beginning and then merge with mechanical sides. maybe the black goo helped cross that line between synthetic and organic .... i believe aswell that the engineers can evolve over a period of 2000 years to something more

When you can manipulate DNA you are a god so the Engineers are gods in a sense. Now humans can play god by manipulating DNA ...I think thats kinda part of the meaning of the movie.

See, i really hope this isn't the case... Engineers being made, just as humans. I really hope they are simply creations of nature, and they made us. If they end up having their own creators, that's going to be excessive... too much. Then it won't even be enough to satisfy anyone's curiosity. Then people will want to know about them! And i, for one, am content with the Engineers. I'm starting to like them more than Predators! SERIOUSLY! No joke... PFFT!

After I saw the movie for the second time, what the engineers were became more clear to me. They are not "engineers" at all. They are biological weapons, most likely super soldier clones, used to run the military installations on that planet. The real engineers have yet to be seen.

It would be extremely interesting if the Sacrificial Engineer was an artificial life form, a DNA time bomb who, when he ingests the speckled Eitr dissolves into waters creating life. But not truly alive itself.

What if the true engineers are fallen angels. Revelation 12:7 A war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon.The Dragon and his angels fought back but he was defeated. And there was no place left for them in heaven... Revelation 12:13 And when the Dragon found he was cast to the earth he pursued the woman who gave birth to the man child... Revelation 12:17 Then the Dragon became furious with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed.... Look closely at the Xeno mural in the temple. Notice the wings. In Alien 3 the Xeno is referred to as the Dragon. Could this be the answer to Shaws question "why do you hate us, why do you want to kill us?" Are the original Xenos fallen Angels still jealous and furious at their Creators beloved creation man. Is this why they were sending a deadly cargo to earth 2000 years ago?Are the space jockeys just their slaves?

Fallen angels -xeno in purist form- no longer able to move in spirit realm. Retains pure intellect-ability to build and operate advanced technology. Mates with early humans-combining DNA. Early fallen man has corrupted DNA-due to sin nature. Offspring is highly aggressive/murderous abomination -perfect weapon to unleash on humans. Fallen angels/Xenos-have foreknowledge of Creators plan to redeem fallen man-(self sacrifice of God in flesh/Christ ) In jealous rage Xenos send bio weapon/aliens to take out bloodline that could bring forth the Christ. It's what I choose to believe.

@Gahlaktus, while that's probably what was intended (dna entering the system via a river) its pretty awful science. A strand of DNA in a river is never going to evolve into anything. Its not like its going to be eaten or absorbed by something and get inside a cell of something to alter a gene. Its nonsensical.

nice posts guys, although i do not like the idea of super soldiers, i rather like the idea that they themselves are to the saucer people like david is to us humans. and through that they have the same goal. to kill there parents. i mean who says the creators of the jockeys in this movie aren´t already dead :-) then they can look all the want, all they will find is tomb....maybe :-) so we might not see the roots to this . its intent of the writers to keep some open like in real life. who knows whats right science vs religion like always

zygote i do reckon that when the space jockey desolves into the water he does turn into single cell organisms that start to reproduce and become a lifeform . similar to stemmcells i reckon but i am no biologist. but at the end of the day ridley did say this is not science class so there are bound to be some mankos like the water scene. i cannot quite grip it either.

MJD yeah, when I watched the film I thought the DNA strands were floating free in water but they could have been floating in fluid in cells.

that was my thought too. that the small sequence we see the dna float , that it is already in the cell happening. great catch atleast xD this theory has so much potential. i would of loved to become one of the scriptwriters for the alien brand xD hahahaha who wouldn´t back to point i do see the theme of artificial life being the trigger in this series.....
