2000 years link

Hello, Sorry if this is already addressed. When the humans find the dead engineer body / head they state it is dead for about 2000 years. We also know that the hologram with the escaping engineers was at the moment when they were about to destroy human life on earth. Do you think that there is any link between the moment they wanted to destroy us and the beginning of our international accepted (gregorian?) calendar?
