2. Logan Marshall-Green (some nice shots, most emotional scene to me before he dies and looks over to Shaw and says i love you - heartbreaking! i think i had a tear...in my eye)
3. Idris Elba (funny, cool)
4. Guy Pearce (there must be a reason WHY they did not use an OLD actor!)
5. Biologist & Geologist (same range, not very important)
6. All the rest (INCLUDING Charlize Theron, maybe question of taste, but i dont like her acting very much)

Idris Elba has my vote. To me, he seemed like the most realistic of the main characters. I would have liked to have seen more screen time with Janek and the two pilots. All Charlize Theron did was bring sex appeal to the film. She is an okay actress who would be better suited as a Bond woman. Her character seemed bored beyond belief. It would have been better if she was the head of security who was an expert martial artist. Maybe she could have gone one-on-one with the Space Jockey or even the mutated Fifield. And that brings to mind something else:How the hell did he manage to get back without anybody seeing him until Janek did at the last moment? Speaking of Fifield, why didn't he have one of his "pups" leave a beacon of some kind for him and Millburn to follow back to the pyramid's entrance?

Magneto and the girl with the dragon tattoo! Great acting!
Vickers was a weak character along with those two weak co-pilots and the security team.
Fifield and Millburn were idiots, although I did like that hermit crab trick Fifield did outside of the Prometheus. Lol!!

Fassbender outshines everybody else
Rapace was hit and miss
Pearce was awful
The rest are forgettable

Fassbender as David, he did a pretty great job in the film
as far as the rest,
i found the all too minor characters of Ford / Fifield / Milburn to be
far more interesting than the main ones like Shaw / Holloway / Vickers
i agree with you on Charlize. i see her and her character as a bit of a
disposable joke. she was somewhat believable at the start, but buy the
time she bedded the all too disaffected Janek, i was more than happy
to see her eat the Juggernaut
ah well...

got to be rapace, her acting is great and she's just lovely AND fassbender, well you know why.

good point on #4. I highly doubt that we wont at least a flashback/another holo video of a younger more spry Guy Pearce.

I dont want to start some "spit-on-theron"-game, just talking about something NOBODY SEEMS TO SEE.
Her role was not needed in the movie, PLUS she played an authority really BAD. Not that she played "bad", but you simply dont accept her as authority, dont ask me why, maybe she is looking to good and they should take some "Glen Close"-Type for the role? I dont know.. maybe.
She simply had NOT A BIT authority.
If i would have a chief like that, everbody would LAUGH AT HIM ALL DAY LONG!
At the end, she wants "to go home", but the captain does not want and she has to leave. Haha. What an AUTHORITY! If she would have NUTS she would probably have a plan b, shoot him down or arrest him, but NOTHING.
They would better have left her at home, she was not needed in this movie, i dont have ANY idea what developement in the story she did bring, maybe someone can OPEN MY EYES.

Fassbender was great as was Idris Elba, though Elba's character could have been fleshed out more.
Theron was about as convincing as the 4 kilos of makeup used on Pearce.

1. DAVID/Fassbender: Not my favorite character, but the most interesting. He was multifaceted, quirky, clever, childlike, appealing, intelligent, insidious, etc…all in one character. Right on Fass! Oh! Also, a film about the rock band The Police should be made with Fassbender cast as Sting.
2. SHAW/Repace: She did a great job with a hit and miss script. Needed more time in front of the lens and more character development. Plus, for me…she has odd, unconventional looks…but still works fairly well.
3. CAPT. JANEK/Idris Elba: My favorite character, made a good effort with very little screen time. His sacrificial act should’ve had me teary eyed…it did not…Lindelof and Scott’s fault.
4. VICKERS/Theron: Not terrible, Two-dimensional, cliché, milfy, nothing that a little script doctoring couldn’t have fixed…needed more film time.
5. HOLLOWAY: A zero, boring, one good scene (death), heavy drinking came out of nowhere.
6. WEYLAND/Pierce: An interesting idea, but a pretty lame character. Miscast. Should’ve been cast with someone like the late great Richard Harris. The character is fairly disposable. Almost all “old man” make-up sucks…in any film.
7. Just about all the rest of the characters were flatliners.

Bah! None of the characters were properly serviced by the script and they were all wasted but, that doesn't mean the characters themselves were unworthy, they had potential - I said elsewhere I think that cast could have set a decent script on fire.
Anyway, my favourite, by a country mile, is Vickers.
Yes, I've read your mean and bullying comments about poor Ms. Vickers, to which I respond, "GRRRRR!"
Vickers wasn't "boring"!
Between her angry and anti-social persona, (which undermined her undeniable, practical common sense); her Daddy issues and all that barely contained resentment, balanced with her, "sexy point to prove", human side - that character had a catalogue of internal issues and, as a result, the most dimension of all. David was fascinating, but Vickers had colour.
A terrific waste of a character.
