read this link.. it (and the links off this page) discuss a "real" conspiracy theory regarding a joint US/USSR apollo mission in the 70s to explore an alien derelict craft that supposedly is/was parked on the moon. The so-called "alien" discovered in the craft was biomechanically fused to some sort of navigation device connected to her eyes and mouth

I'm not a big follower on conspiracy theories but it is an intriguing read even if this "covert cosmonaut" is a complete fraud.

There is an ancient tale in China about the goddess of the moon named Chang' e, who was a mortal woman who ingested a pill which made to float up to the moon where she stayed alone and immortal.

Also, why not just call her "The Moona Lisa" Instead of the "Moon Mona Lisa"??

that must be reason why we got booted from the moon also.

Yeah right... Next there will be a picture of vladimir putin fighting off moon aliens and saving the world.

This is worth paying attention to Betty and Barney Hill abduction
There are some clues in this as to what's going on with the plot of Prometheus.
I'll let you find them yourself.

I like listening to Joseph P. Farrel. The dude is very articulated

Hadley- I've got a tape (yes.. Cassette.. Remember those?) of betty's account while under hypnosis.. Freaky. "then he stuck a needle into my navel and I'm crying I'm crying it's hurting take it out!" I don't get the Prometheus tie in you're trying to make though.. What that the engineers were abducting humans from earth? At some point I wonder who is writing Prometheus-- Ridley Scott and co or the fan base. :)
it was a mother ship, very old, who crossed the universe at least milliard of years ago (1.5 estimated)
HAHAHAHA and they expect us to believe that? THEY KNEW it was a mothership!? WTF

@msepsis
I think the abduction being referred to as Zeta Reticuli Incident was the link.

Come on people... argh...
You will find ANY SHIT on the internet, you just have to search.
You may find reports of ANY SHIT IMAGINABLE.
Maybe God lives in my socks.
Its what you choose to BELIEVE.

I don't think anyone here believes it, it's a cool story though. But, yeah people will make up anything to get attention. I thought it was hilarious to hear the author of that url contemplating whether Scott and O'bannan knew or cosmically felt these events, which led to them writing Alien in the late 70's
NoXWordJune 13, 2012
I find it fascinating. Not the story itself, but the fantasy and the effort put into it, to make it appear as real as possible.
I am sure that someday somebody will accuse NASA of hiding evidence of their discovery of real My Little Pony and how they relate to the Pokemon (which are already being researched upon in the not yet famous Area 53).
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

The Hill Case was hardly unknown to Ridley Scott or Dan O'Bannon.
There was a book and a 1975 film on that story, and it's why Zeta 2 Reticuli was picked as the star system where LV-426 is located in the first two films.
Why wouldn't they abduct people?
You may have a few things the wrong way round, because Scott is throwing in deliberate confusion.
Look at scene one again in that light.

FrantzJune 13, 2012
Nah come on ...the hill case was well known and still today confirmed as an HOAX by the authorities ( and psychologists ) ...anyway no one can be sure is an hoax but even more no one can be sure its true !!
anyway that one really dont deserve a sticky ...well maybe one but for the toilet ...

Shaw's_sweet_babyJune 13, 2012
Isn't this just a picture of a person with chicken bones glued on his or her face... And with small bits of chicken in the nose.

I'm not saying it's true Frantz. I'm saying that there is a reason for picking a detail from that story, to put in the Alien script, and that there is another element of that story, which will form part of an emerging storyline from this trilogy.

Recka73June 13, 2012
I agree with Hadley's Hope. There are useful elements in the Hill's story. I'm from the same area as Betty and Barney Hill.
On another note, my best friend knew Betty. There has been a LOT of alien encounter stories and UFO sightings in this area of the US (Northeast US, New England). I don't particualrly believe they were abducted, but I have seen unexplainable things in the sky on numerous occasions. I'm not sure what I believe anymore as far as "ufo's". There have been some highly regarded UFO sightings with very respectable people in New Hampshire. I def believe the Ancient Aliens/ Interevention Theory though.

Hadley means that the star system that the Prometheus crew go to (Zeta 2 Reticuli) was first mentioned by the abductees
Hadley's HopeJune 13, 2012
Well, certainly in Alien, the Nostromo is diverted to a moon of a gas giant around Zeta 2 Reticuli.
We are not told in this film that we are Zeta 2 Reticuli, and I doubt that we are... but it's in the neighborhood.
(I know someone's going to quote 'the higher power' on this... but I'm willing to stand over it, despite that, and despite admiring 'the higher power' for saying it.)

msepsisJune 13, 2012
@ yutani
yeah I get that, but this is hardly a "clue in this as to what's going on with the plot of Prometheus."
I don't even know if I want to know where you're going with this :)
Hopefully it could explain though why the crew pulled every cliche in the book of thriller suspense movies.
Hadley's HopeJune 13, 2012
Well, think of something in the Hill case that HASN'T been pulled out as a cliche in this script... and then ask why it hasn't been mentioned. I think that's a "lightbulb" moment.
Bishop79June 13, 2012
Yeah, the only things Scott or Damon borrowed from that story is the Zeta Reticuli idea.
Hadley's HopeJune 13, 2012
@Bishop79... sometimes when you borrow, you don't show... wait for part 2. I'd put money on this, if I could find a bookie to give me odds.

Kane77June 13, 2012
I find it rather interesting that Hans Rüdi´s Alien and alien world show actual demonic creatures. Real ones.get it boys..
cheers
legionJune 13, 2012
I was patiently waiting for someone to make a demonic reference. Dr. J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book fame recanted his original claims that UFOs are a figment of ppls imagination. He actually said later in life he finds them to be more malevolent able to break the laws of physics.
The author of the book Communion also describes his abduction of one not being very pleasant more like being tortured in hell and even Mr. Carl Sagan said that if a creature from the 4th dimension were to visit Earth it would not be a happy moment for mankind.
All in all pseudo science is just that and nothing more, but actual scientist admit there are things out in the universe that mankind will not like to meet so I'm not surprised RS worked his aliens to kill us. Maybe they are from the space in between spaces.

Tee1upJune 13, 2012
I knew it was only a matter of time before Betty & Barney showed up at this party. I'm thinking the Engineers did the Rubbles first, then the Hills.

takka_takka_takkaJune 13, 2012
If by "real" you mean "completely fictional", then I agree.
