Engineers as Titans

I submit the following for your consideration: The engineer we see in the opening sequence is Prometheus; He has stolen fire (the earn) from the gods (unidentified saucer ship); He sacrifes himself for the purposes of giving the gift of life to humanity (without the knowledge of the gods). If we assume these assumptions are correct then: The engineers are the titans (combination of god and mortal); Something else is god - xenomorphs - mural?; The gods punish the titans for stealing the fire by infecting them. As a result, certain titans want to appease the gods and others want to rebel. Do these pieces fit?
