who was the designer of the ancient writing in the movie? .> i would like to know how he or she came up with the idea of the alien writing on the walls etc?

To me it did look summarian-like or cuneiform? to bad they did not subtitle translations of the wall writing that would be handy if they release the DVD for those of us looking for clues
