I found it amusing that with all of the advances made by the Weyland Corporation, Peter Weyland was unable to build himself artificial legs to walk with. Instead, he uses some dodgy Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robot leg braces to get around. fail

They should have hired Wallace, he could've lent Weyland his "Wrong Trousers".

Lol, you're right... those leg braces didn't look good at all. Artificial legs, yeah... then he'd be a cyborg. Creepy! : ) They could have even given him a full on power suit if they wanted, making him strong and flexible. However, that wouldn't have really worked with the story. Could you imagine if they had old man Weyland kicking the Engineer's butt once he decided to take David's head off? LMAO! I think the idea was to make Weyland as frail as possible.

No need for actual artificial legs, what would have done the job is a simple exoskeleton which already exists today in medical research for those with motor neurone diseases, muscular dystrophy and the like...

My father was like that... he refused to have his diseased ridden legs to be amputated, and lived with the pain for the rest of his life... Weyland was a very proud and stubborn man, I can easily see this and thus the exoskeleton.

Unfortunately, it is a little strange, to be fair. So, he can produce a synthetic human, indistinguishable from an actual human - but, (even if he didn't want his own legs removed, for whatever reason), he can't fix up anything else but some kind of clunky, Metal Man-looking braces, for himself?... *sigh*

Maybe the advances in science haven't got as far as the human nervous system accepting robotic limbs just yet? Although you would think if interstellar travel, hypersleep and seemlessly human androids are possible a pair of cyborg legs wouldn't be stretching it that far. I think it's just one of those things that Ridley hasn't thought too much in to. They should definitely have fans on-board when they create these things, the details would be so much better then again, the thing would probably end up running for about 5 hours!
