Was the time measurement a mistake?

Have a question if someone can answer: When asked how long they were asleep, the android answers "2 years, 6 months, 18 days, and 36 hours" (or close to that). '18 days and 36 hours?' Was that a mistake, or a purposeful statement that time is different in space?

I caught that as well (both times) and thought it was an odd script mistake to make. How many eggs do we have? Three dozen and 16. Huh? -Doc.

Hadley...yeah. I saw it twice, the 2nd time just because of that, and I am 97% sure that he said 36 hours.

Hmmm....Good point. Everything should be based on a 24 hour clock..even in space. It's always nice to know the date and time back on good 'ol Earth, HOWWEVER, when we starting kicking in theories of relativity....who really knows what date/time it is. As far as the time spent travelling.....even that might be warped at 13+ times the speed of light.

Are you sure he said that. I thought he said 2 years 4 months, 18 days and I missed the bit about the hours as Vickers was interrupting him.

Yup, just checked, he says it, 2 years, 4 months, 18 days, 36 hours, and 15 minutes lol. However, Janek states that the reason he's putting up the tree is to show the crew that time is still moving, so possibly it does have different increments in space. Earth time is based on the Earth's revolutions per sec/hr/day/mnth/yr. In space however, there is no such revolution, so time really is relative lol. Perhaps it's recalibrated based on LV223's revolutions?
