Love the stills - fascinating.................. But I thought: What's a "precious suit?" Then it came to me. Of course, you mean a "pressure suit...!" Same sound - but different spelling.....!!! Nevertheless...... great stills - look forward to the DVD, when, hopefully we'll have a lot more of this behind the scenes stuff..........!

No friend. "precious suit" is the nickname the "team engineer" gave to this suit (btw, clarifying it is indeed a suit and not the evolution of the engineer's anatomy, like some here keep suggesting) Maybe it is also a 'pressure suit' though, who knows! hehe Cheers!

Hey!!! I was the one suggesting it's not a suit. It's either something grown with the engineer. (true controlled evolution as they like to mix stuff) Or it's kind of a robot, or it's a suit and i'm wrong again second pic from the bottom, this hand/arm is not in a suit, it's one thing together)

So cool. You can see refferences to the Xeno all over the Suit. Fantastic. Loved It. Kudus bro.

Looks like the suit and the engineer are meant to be fused together - this is evident especially round the neck and the forearms, there's not 'cuffs' on the suit, it just gradually becomes skin at the wrists, same witht the neck. And in the closeups of the still of the arm it looks like you can see veins beneath the whiter areas. This design is exquisite. Hats off to the designers & sculptors, it looks marvelous.

This proves once and for all Ridley doesn't understand the franchise.This pressure suit looks like the original alien's skeleton/bio mechanoid body. Is he thinking that's why the aliens look like they do in the other films? because they gestated in a guy wearing a pressure suit?Get Giger over here to fix this shit.

The engineers could be part of some kind of "death cult" that worships the Xenomorphs and are doing body modifications via DNA combination. This suit looks like is part of him and provides a HUGE contrast to the Engineer we see at the beginning of the film. (that may be part of a different sect of the Engineers as they appear to be the "light" to these guy's "dark")

That's why I suggested that the engineer may be fused with the suit - it sure looks like it's designed to appear that way, it's fully integrated with him, it's part of him, part of the life support system that's been keeping him alive for 2000 or so years - it's fused in with his dna - the mechanical nature of the suit is fused with his biology - bio+mechanical. So a xenomorph that's gestated inside him would take on both traits contained in his dna. Hell yes I'd buy that. Why the hell not? It's as good an explanation as any if you're looking for an answer as to how the xenomorphs came to look like they do.

If that's a suit, it "biomechanically" fuses with the Engineer who's wearing it. Look closely at the wrists.

Maybe the engineers designed the suits after the look of creatures they have created. it is a suit though. Not sure if it's biomech but it's a suit. The Art of the Film book states it's a suit and this version of the figure from NECA is called "Engineer in Pressure Suit" or "Pressure Suit Engineer."

Did Ridley not state in an article that the engineers on LV-223 were "Dark" angels. And they were not the true gods that created us???? I think there are less plot holes in this story then people believe and Ridley is gearing up for a solid sequel. Just my opinion.
