Some are pre-prod concept art, some are production stills, others are behind-the-scene shots showing the fabrication of the film's props.

This summer, Rob Sollis will be exhibiting at "Art in Clay", an internationally acclaimed ceramics show held in Hatfield House, Hertfordshire each year. Rob will be showing original pots as well as demonstrating the Raku firing processes used whilst making large scale ceramics at Pinewood Studio for Ridley Scott's new film "Prometheus".
This july at 'Art in Clay'' In the grounds of ''Hatfield House''. Rob, together with a new body of work, shall also be demonstrating making and ''Raku'' firing tecniques he used to create unique ceramics for this epic production

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 3:54 PMyup! and visit both the guy's websites. He looks genuinely cool and interesting, and it's great that they hired him indeed.
He has his own stuff already exposed in the Victoria and Albert Museum, so I doubt not his Prometheus stuff will find a place in some collections indeed.
Also, I added the info bit about him so UK people can check if they want to go at that "Art in Clay" show, in case they are about. Go there, people, and salute that guy for us.

It is fascinating to me that they threw all of the urns by hand. I really don't understand why they didn't just make a few moulds in the different sizes and pour all the vessels. I also love seeing the notebook sketches. So authentic.
I'm really glad that they were done in ceramic though. That means that they will endure and end up in art collections and museums and [i]raku[/i] was a great way to go for the finish.

MemberOvomorphJun-18-2012 4:14 PMActually, the 2 posts today really took me some tedious work even more so than the others. Those last days I would find a few clues or bits of pics posted and could find the original gallery quite quickly. but here I really had to go exploring even randomly into some of the websites' hidden folder to find all the images, and in their best quality.
Thanks to that, it's been an hour now that I'm blessed with the father of all headaches... but the trick, William Kornbean, is not minding that it hurts!

By the way, here's the Fifield monster that I was talking about, though I realize now that it's more like a life-size model than a prosthetic. The image that I originally came across just contained the middle three pictures and was of better quality. I don't think I've seen the model on the right before though.

yes, I saw that gallery. I posted that and other material those last few days, a lot of pics.
