Mural Not by Giger

I read an article the other day (dont have the link), they interviewed the artist who designed the "xeno mural" that holloway discovers. Im kinda disppointed that Giger wasnt even involved, it was only a tribute to him by the artist. Come on. The designer says something like she hid Giger elements in the "swirls" around the xeno relief. All im saying is they could hv done a much better job to echo his style. Giger never f*kin used SWIRLS in his design. Is he that old that he couldnt even help with some insight on their designs?

That's odd. I was under the impression that Giger did some murals for the film. Did they just decide to scrap his designs?

Yea thats what Ridley said word by word, that Giger is doing some murals! Why did he say that. Still his work is inevitably there, the jockey helmet and Juggernaut and other things, ok. Still, my point is that its pretty sad that they gave the Xeno Mural design job to someone random, who put some "swirls" around it. WTF. How does this happen? @Patch yea i think I read in in you post actually, Thank you!

There is some Giger design in there: The temple itself is taken from Giger's original concepts for Castle Harkonnen in Dune (unrealised until now). Also if the artist responsable for that mural says she took inspiration or tipped her hat, that doesn't quite cover it, look through "H R Giger's Film Design" you'll see exactly which parts were 'inspired' by Giger!! LOL :)
