Cuddles the Squid, is Shaw's saviour!

Agreed the final events take place on 1st January 2094 and so we must assume that cuddles was not born on Xmass Day but most likely between like 26th to 30th December. But i think the links are there more or less in a subtle way, to draw some similarities with Marys Virgin Birth yet not be the same thing. Its just like the Xeno Mural has a pose that looks like Jesus on the Cross. Again its all supple and so not directly linked. I think Ridley is walking close to the line without crossing over it, we shall see what Prometheus 2 brings..... Ridley did say maybe the Engineers was upset at something we did on Earth 2000 years ago and kinda joked that Jesus was a Space Jockey lol.... I think really he is pulling a few strings and cant see him directly connect the Engineers wanting us dead due to Christ.

This has been mentioned several times in various threads. Yes, she opened the door, believing that the Space Jockey was going to beat her to death. (not a bad assumption to make in the circumstances, considering the language barrier and his brutal slaying of Weyland, Forde and Jackson.) However, don't get too Christian on this, firstly it's not a 'virgin birth' cos she had sex... so how was she a virgin? It might be 'miraculous' if you still want to make it religious. Her 'saviour' ate two medical personnel. You noticed the blood inside the door right? There's 2 unaccounted for crew, who were helping Weyland in his lifeboat. They didn't go the Juggernaut with him, so they stayed on Prometheus. They seem to have stayed on the lifeboat, and been ejected without warning... (Captain didn't know that they were there apparently.. he's very laid back about things like this. ) But they were probably already dead, having gone to prepare the MedPod for Weyland, presumably, for his return, either to help him after being 'refused' immortality, or to verify for him that he is healthier after being 'granted it' (somehow) Well we can guess what happened when they opened that door. Much screaming and pain and death, as the walls get painted with their innards, and their yummy bodies help Cuddles to grow big enough to tackle a Space jockey. So, really they are martyrs. They should be beatified, except we never knew their names. ;p As for what day it was... they landed Xmas day, went to the Dome... came back minus 2 crew, Holloway got poisoned, woke up sick... and Shaw is pregnant ten hours after intercourse... so it's the 26th.

Yeah i did not mean to say the connection was exact like how Mary was Virgin and Shaw was not. I guess i meant the concept that Marry did not carry Joseph's child. Just as how in a way she was not carrying a baby of Holloways but something else. So i never meant to imply it was the same thing, just maybe vaguely this is what Ridley was touching upon.... then again i guess that could just be my interpretation. I think as i said Ridley is trying to get close to many of those ideas without actually being exact. Just like the Titans and Prometheus the link is supple. The Sacrifice Engineer does not steal anything from any Gods.... well the full scene shows that his Elders get/ask him to perform this sacrifice. The only Prometheus really was David 8, maybe via his own Agenda or at the request of Weyland, thus Weyland was a attempted but failed Prometheus.

@Hadley's Hope Yes indeed there are two uncounted deaths... So nice theory that maybe they would explain Cuddles Growth. Then again from how fast Shaw went from not Pregnant to then how fast it grew in her womb until she had that C-Section maybe it could grow fast itself. The movie is said to had been 2:27 and reduced to 2:04 thats like 23 minutes. Now we know there was a longer Sacrifice Engineer scene where he was faced with up to 8 Elders and one gave him the Bowl of Black Substance for him to take. We know that the Engineer enters the Life Boat and Grabs Shaw and holds up up against the Chandeliers in Vickers Quarters before she must escape and the fall to floor, then the Engineer picks her up and slams her up the wall then she sets Cuddles on him. But those surely dont make up 23 minutes. So yes maybe there could had been a scene that shows what happened to those two missing crew maybe Cuddles got to them. Maybe as Cuddles purpose was to Face Hug and implant the Deacon Seed in the Engineer, the question would be if the two crew members was on the lifeboat then would Cuddles not tried to implant something in them? If that means Cuddles could do so, then it would not die after doing so like the Face Hugger and thus would be a plot hole in how come it did at the end of Prometheus. Maybe also when Vickers had David 8 and wanted to know what Weyland wanted (Try Harder) maybe there was a scene shot with David and Weyland. And maybe they cut that because they wanted to leave Weyland being alive as a surprise to the crew and audience?

I had not thought about Cuddles eating the two crew members who are unaccounted for. That would help explain how s/he got so big so fast. The Biblical Elizabeth's delivery of John the Baptist was miraculous because she was barren. Shaw was also barren. I feel that that's the parallel.
