Interesting coincidence in several sci-fi movies set in space

Hey all! I've noticed that, in several sci-fi space movies/space operas, big explosions occur in the end. Some examples: Alien: Nostromo A visually beautiful one in my opinion. It fits with the movie's visual, metaforical, biologic and creative style. Aliens: Hadley's Hope Couldn't find a picture. This one is more common, usual. Prometheus: Prometheus/Engineer ship crash Very well executed and it's one of my favorite shots of the movie. Star Wars: Death Star Again, a common explosion, but it's very well executed, doesn't seem fake even today, and it's also beautiful. Star Wars-Return of the Jedi: 2nd Death Star Despite being a normal one, It is surely iconic since it marks 'the end' of the empire and the star wars saga. Dark Star: Bomb 20 Couldn't find picture. Due to the year (1974), the explosion is very simple, just a strong light, but bomb 20 is a interesting "character". I found it similar to Hal 9000. =================Bonus==================== The Thing: Outpost 31 Couldn't find picture. This movie is not a space opera, but since it's one of the best sci-fi movies ever, I think it must be featured here. This explosion guarantees the death of the last creature (The Blair monster), but the excellent ending is still suspenseful, since we don't know if one of the last survivors, McReady and Childs, is an assimilation...
Have you heard of phoenix asteroids? They glow in every color of the rainbow...they travel endlessly through space...

Supernova. Did the pilot/theatrical cut of the original Battlestar Galacita end with one?

Explosions often occur as a result of the rounding off of events prevoiusly experienced during the course of the particular yarn being depicted. When there is a story you have it broken up into three parts (three beats) naratively speaking: Equilibrium, Dis-Equilibrium, Re-Equilibrium. Begining, middle and end. During the progress of the story in question you have the setting and all events therin begining as it currently stands: In 'order'. (this is the: "Equilibrium") As it progresses the story has a dispondent, sinking feeling during the middle section as if all hope is lost 'dis-order' ("Dis-Equilibrium"). But soon our hero or hero's in question after a series of trials rise to the challeges put before them and they soon over come the obstacles that were placed in their path: 're-order' ("Re-Equilibrium"). In a wider context as is the case with the star Wars trilogy, the trilogies themselves are a giant saga of story tapestries: The Anakin Trilogy in some ways is Equilibrium: how things started out but as all three progress they play out like a Greek tragedy, Anakin turning away from the Old Order infavor of the new. Then we get Lukes Trilogy, the Dis-Equilibrium, the result of the choices that Anakin's efforts put into effect and the concequences of those actions are now a disharmonious society throughout the galaxy, civil war yet Luke is : A New Hope for this dis-continuous stae of affairs. Then with the Leia trilogy is the beginings of the New Republic: the Re-Equilibrium from lessons learned from the old order in the establishment of the new yet a new understanding that accompanies those first layed down in the old but were not considered during the middle. They had to be fought for with blood, tooth and nail so as to learn from pastr mistakes so as not to make them again. There are bigger meanings to the symbolic explosion then just a mere explosion. It is a destructive symbol of an end to the old world in favor with the lessons aquired duriing the trial for that of the new, more informed world so as not to repeate the same mistakes but instead to learn from them. Read up on a lot of film lore subjects and that of Joseph Cambell: The Heros Journeyor the other title is The Hero With A Thousand Faces. George Lucas read up on these as did the Miller Brothers when they went in to make Mad Max II: The Road Warrior. They may help you to understand more about this.
