AVP and PROMETHEUS

There is a simple explanation really..... The two AvP movies occur in an "alternate universe". .... seriously. ; )

Im pretty sure avp were thankfully ot considered in creating prometheus. With that said I did enjoy avp for fun, but never think if it as part of the series.

I won't discuss what is which universe, but for the ones wanting it all. I see no problem in coexistance, Prometheus doesn't eplain the creation of a xeno. they just explain the spacejockey ended up a similar way in Alien as in Prometheus.

By the way - even AvP (Part1) was more interesting to me then Prometheus..

I like AVP, but certainly is better to think that all events of this movie take place in a kind of parallel universe :p and By the way...Does anyone know which is the origin planet of the Xenomorphs? For me it is one of the big questions that deserve to be answered in the future...

Prometheus does not show the creation of THE Xenomorph, is shows the creation of a NEW Xenomorph

Disregard AVP. In early 2000th Scott and Cameron considered making a sequel to Alien films, But when first AVP was shot - they both left the idea commenting that the crossover killed the whole franchise. Both Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weaver stated that they would never tolerate an Alien film set on Earth. I do not think that Scott even regarded AVP story. I'm sorry guys - Bishop Weyland has never been a relative to Peter Weyalnd.

@ Volo - Yet after its release James Cameron stated that of the Alien films he considered it the 3rd best (after Alien and Aliens). Then there's the fact that Prometheus borrows very heavily from the first AVP. Then there's Prometheus' viral marketing website - weylandindustries.com.

1. AvP does not count into the Alien universe, it was just a crossover just like Freddy vs Jason. 2. The Xenomorph we know from ALIEN existed much longer before the events of Prometheus. The derelict of LV-426 might crashed there for thousands of years either around the same time the black goo infected and decimated most of the engineers on LV-223 or even way before. The mural in the ampule room should made it clear that the engineers know about the Xenomorphs. The black goo might be responsible to create the Xenomorph. The Deacon that appeared in the end is Xenomorph like. But as it has direct Human DNA and an engineer as host, maybe that's why a new kind of Xenomorph has emerged. Probably even stronger and bigger as it was already as big like a human infant while regular Xenomorphs start as Chestbursters.

I got it!! First AVP is NOT cannon, but it’s “relevant”. These Engineers left earth 35,000+ years ago, that certainly gives enough time for the Predators to start using the humanoid aliens for hunting games on earth and thru galaxy (AVP+Predator). Maybe the Engineers and Predators were at war at one time; Xenos being used in the fight, Predators win and with no gigantic albinos to hunt start hunting Aliens on Friday nights. The Engineers were def at war with somebody/something, just maybe there is another lifeform we havent seen yet.... If LV 223 is a military base/ stock pile/ outpost it stands there is more than 1...Right? I didnt get the WMDs factory vibe, no tools for R&D + no manufacturing equip. Besides, it’s assumed from movie start the goo was already made. Whatever happened, AVP and Alien story lines do not conflict (unlike this movie) AVP, Predator and Aliens are in same reality but the Aliens for both stories come from different “sources”. I see the next 3 movies already, “Engineer Wars!” or “Predators Vs. Engineers”. Hey Ridley! Call me, I work inexpensive.
