Well he cuaght the sci-fi bug good...the movie has his what -if juices flowing and that is what it is supposed to do...While I dont draw the same conclusions, some things offer food for thought...Still open to alot of interpretation though

Excellent article with (IMHO) one glaring exception. The author thinks that the Engineers regard the Xeno as a "superior" organism. That just cannot be as no Xeno we've ever seen was capable of intelligence higher than that of an animal. It constructs with secreted resins not advanced tools or materials and acts in only the ways we're used to seeing.
I do think they revere its Bio_mechanical "perfection and have adopted their technology from it. I feel all that we see as Bio-Mech is a result of eons of Engineer's research into its physiology to adapt it to practical means. I also feel that the Xeno mural depicts the very first that they encountered. Hence, all of their tech used "him" as a genesis to their tech revolution per se. I do think the crystal does contain remnants of this first Xeno and would be regarded with reverence.

Good stuff thanks for the link. @ RSAND - good ideas on the xeno. I just got the illustrated book in the mail and a section in the book was dedicated to the Xeno mural & crystal. According to the book we were looking at an altar and the green crystal was not explained because at the time of the book being written there was a plan for a sacrificial vial/vase placed there. Some reason it was change after shooting and there has not been a good answer for it yet.
The Xeno we see on the wall across from the Altar was actual a tribute to Giger and his original Alien designs. Notice it is positioned as though it is being crucified also intentional (so the book says). Now this idea of course could change in the next film if there is significance.
