MemberOvomorphJun-22-2012 3:46 PMTo me its
"THAT IS WHAT I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE".
As that is what its all about - nobody knows it all, or even enough to KNOW what is really going on, so we have to CHOOSE what we want to believe...
hopefully we choose depending on plausibilty - but as human beeings are so damn to emotions and fear, mostly emotions dictate what to choose...
The funny thing about that is - most people CONFOUND what they choose to belive with truth.
Thats a big and interesting message, but prometheus could make this much more clearer, i think they did not want to annoy religious people - hopefully they are more unfearful in the sequel!

"It's quite all right."

That's my number 1.
"...not minding that it hurts" #2
The "choosing to believe" is clearly critical.
"You're not a real boy."
"How far would you go?"
"East."
...
I'm also sure that some of my favorite lines have not been said... YET...
October can't come quickly enough.

MemberOvomorphJun-25-2012 7:46 PMi agree with Chris, all of the quotes from Lawrence of Arabia were great but that one says it all! about the most memorable line in any film i have seen, and now its in two of them.
(not minding it hurts)
however i also think these are two great lines: another 'quote' if you will "if you cant be with the one you love, love the one youre with" -sounds like hippy talk but could also be taken a lot more philosophically i think. and i do think it has a meaning in the film. maybe in several places but certainly in a sense with Janeks sacrifice and the sacrifice of his shipmates. and of course more literally in getting invited to Vickers room ...
and my third favorite is the last line. "... and im still searching" (i believe thats the correct wording). that is the best line to end any story with in my opinion. plus it just sets a positive tone which is nice because -although i love the dark things, its nice to have a positive ending sometimes as well...
there are a ton of great lines of course - this film has so much symbolism i only pick up a fraction of it but i can sense there is probably a lot more. maybe its my mind playing tricks on me but i feel like almost every scene and line brims with symbolism, references to other stories and films, and other types for "metaphorical imagery." which is the kind of thing that is fun to look for, debate about, guess at, or just try to understand... and makes the film more impact-full and in new ways the more you see it.

The mission is a catastrophic failure, everyone is dead, her "maker" tried to kill her, she had a giant squid for a child, and her lover was burned alive right in front of her. And sadly its all her fault.....she wants answers. SEQUEL TIME!

MemberDeaconSep-09-2012 3:02 PMFor me one sentence that was very important was....
"SOMETIMES IN ORDER TO CREATE YOU MUST FIRST DESTROY"
When David said that, it seems its not just a wild assumption but he must have gathered enough information from when he was messing around with the Hologram/Orrey Room Control Panel.
