Organic residue found by the android

When the android got up in like a latter to activate the holograms (with out him knowing about them) he found a green sticky organic residue. Who left that? Aliens?, If so, where were they? The engineers have been dead for 2000 years and organic matter doesn’t last that long. It seems that wasn’t relevant to anything else on the movie, and to clarify at the point the android found the stuff they haven’t yet entered the chamber with the bio black stuff. Also at the ship the captain was seeing and telling the two guys left behind there was something at the other end of the cave, what was that? Because they were right next to the chamber were the black stuff was, and the worms too. Last thing the surgery capsule that Vickers had a woman was for males only, what’s up whit that, was she a shemale or why would she had what she claimed a very expensive piece of equipment that only 12 were made

kkwuat57, Welcome to www.prometheus-movie.com! You pose interesting questions. When the android got up in like a latter to activate the holograms (with out him knowing about them) he found a green sticky organic residue. Who left that? Aliens?,If so, where were they? The engineers have been dead for 2000 years and organic matter doesn’t last that long. It seems that wasn’t relevant to anything else on the movie, and to clarify at the point the android found the stuff they haven’t yet entered the chamber with the bio black stuff. The android, David, got up on a ladder to open the door to the sealed ampule/head room a bit later on. The scene you are talking about is where the team of six are spread out along a long corridor. The panel was slightly above chest height and required no ladder. David was either hanging back or was going ahead (I forget). The residue is most likely from a Deacon (the chest-burster that you see at the end of the movie). This is the like the slime that xenomorphs produce from their mouths. There are two theories out there: (1) It came from the green gem/stone/rock/(some ancient xenomporph egg; probably gooey) sitting on the altar in front of the xenomorph mural (2) It came from the Deacon (or Deacons) that chest-bursted out of at least a few of the engineers as evident by the gaping chest holes in their suit The Deacon that put that slime there died within days after it killed the 13 engineers lying in a heap. Only 7 of the 20 engineers survived, but 1 became infected with 'black goo' and was mutating while chasing the other 6 into the very 'ampule/head' room that the explorers discover thanks to David pulling out his retractable ladder and bypassing the lock. Also at the ship the captain was seeing and telling the two guys left behind there was something at the other end of the cave, what was that? Because they were right next to the chamber were the black stuff was, and the worms too. One of the 4 PUPs had found the weak signal of the last surviving engineer from the last group of six that had survived the initial outbreak by sealing themselves in the 'ampule/head' room. The door that it was stuck at lead to one of the 5 Juggernaut class engineer spaceships. 4 had made it back to this ship, but only 1 survived as 3 had been impregnated by a trilobite (presumably BEFORE they went to sleep). Last thing the surgery capsule that Vickers had a woman was for males only, what’s up whit that, was she a shemale or why would she had what she claimed a very expensive piece of equipment that only 12 were made See Svanya's response below....

The MedPod was for Weyland, specifically calibrated for bypass surgery.

There is something to note about David examining the goo. He doesn't exclaim a question, or show interest, but instead says, "Impressive." That is an interesting choice of word. It implies he already knew something of the slime. @Antony (aka. abordoli) Also, has it been definitively stated that the first green goo encountered was from a "deacon" Xeno? I'm not saying you're wrong, you just seem to state it as if it's a proven fact. I'm curious.

I will modify my prior post to include both possibilities since there is not enough evidence to say conclusively.

1.) It looks like nanotech. Which probably could stop it from decaying. Also, how do we know there wasn't any kind of alien there recently before the crew of the Prometheus showed up? 2.) These were the two guys that were lost. The Captain told them the lifeform was one direction and they decided to go the 'other direction'. How did they know what the 'other direction' was if they were lost? They probably went in exactly the same direction the Captain told them the lifeform was at. I don't think they were near the Ampule Room when the Captain told them about the lifeform. 3.) The surgery capsule wasn't for Vickers, it was for Weylund.
Of the two, I believe the latter to be more likely.
I agree with this. It's very likely. My bigger point is David's reaction. It's not a very human one (duh he's not human), but it does imply some knowledge.

The green goo was from the infected Engineers' exploding bodies. Like when the head explodes in the lab it was all green and gooey... Thanks for the heads up on the medpod, I was a little confused by this as the pod was in Vickers' lifeboat, but it does make sense that the medpod would be exclusively for Weyland.

I think what was so impressive was that after 2,000 years of sitting their as a "big smudge"....it still seemed very active.

That green goo that David found was NOT left by any type of alien/Deacon lol he says impressive because it is Bio tech. It was almost like a key he rubbed on his fingers and the tech that was infused with the engineered goo. The wall he was rubbing would not have interacted with out the slime. The engineers have fuses organic and inorganic tech. Gigers art is always bio mechanical, so this type of tech "theme" was kept with the engineers. It's funny how people don't realize this. Even the engineer who woke up from the stasis pod was wearing a suit that was fused with his living tissue. It's just alien tech. That's why it was impressive you can plainly see the digital looking lights inside the slime when he plays with it.
