I believe the deacon grows to become a queen and lays the eggs from the first alien movie. after all, when everything is first born, it does not remain the same size right? for example, shaw's baby grows 10x in size and the chestbuster from alien grows to the size of a human.... so i think our little deacon has a bit more growing to do :P

Ah can't read that article at work, will have to do it later. What did it say in short David? Problem with Deacon being involved with the Alien 1 ship, is that ship had been there for 200 yrs and the eggs were thousands of years old. Prometheus less than a century before Alien I think.

mehh... I always thought of Prometheus to be a "one-shot" movie... but, then again, money talks and Sir Ridley walks... along with Lindelof.

Received the "Art or Prometheus" hard cover book the other day. Great read with some good information and amazing art work and stills from the sets of the movie. There is a dedicated page to the art deco of the Queen. The book says it was stuck into the movie as a tribute to Giger and his contributions to the Alien universe. It is a Queen and it appears to be crucified on a cross.
There may be more to it than that but for now the book says its a tribute only. This explains why Holloway character really shows no more interest in it and it is forgotten after that scene.

Interesting but the Deacon at the end is likely going to be more important than a tribute. I think it will greet the Weyland rescue mission.

I agree. The very last page of the book shows an artist rendering of the Deacon walking out of the resue pod and towards the downed Juggernaut. I suspect that the Deacon will have arole in the next movie or two.

Yea I see P2 being 1. Shaw's trip to SJ world. 2. Deacon attacking and impregnating the rescue team, story line leading to Alien 1 in two films.

we can only hope a nuclear strike takes out the deacon before we see its beetlejuice head polluting my theater screen again! quack quack!!!

The deacon is West Sussex Minister, who likes sports cars and enjoys a fine cup of tea in the mornings.
