'really freekin fast' == ONE HUNDRED TIMES the speed of light. also, where did he get his EXTRA FOOTAGE from? was this all in the released TV spots and trailers? I don't recognise some shots, at all. :)

Now just break down the ties within the movie to the ALIEN franchise, Gigers' work, maybe explain why the Engineers where running in the hologram, a few other things, and we won't need any more posts about the movie....awesome review man, hats off...

the video proposes the idea that Prometheus is based on symbolic theory. But it rather then acculumates ideas...stuff like ancient astronaut theory and other speculation.. he tries to give some depth to the film it lacks IMO.

Great vid man, I know nothing of occult and religious symbiotic stuff let alone science, ok I'm a dumbass, but like an occult initiation, Prometheus never gives away the full picture. The first time I saw Prometheus, I only picked up on a few of the Ancient Astronaut references, but when I saw it a 2nd time and viewed it as an "arthouse" symbolic movie, I discovered more religious imagery. Then when I started putting the video together, all of the sudden I discovered some of the theoretical science involved. Did you come up with all those ideas by yourself or did you read into other peoples ideas and made a video about them? I don´t want to sound like an ass but some of those ideas are the same ideas that cavalorn wrote in his blog and also some of the symbolism that people in this forum discovered. If it is so you should give credit where it is due. Anyways very good video. I still can´t believe people deny the symbolism in this film, even if its as clear as water.

It's completely fair for me to site where some of the ideas that I presented, came from. After I saw Prometheus, I did read Prometheus Unbound by Cavalorn. He pointed out the whole Jesus/Engineer idea, which got me thinking more deeply about the symbolism. I even sent him a message thanking him for his essay (I think it got lost as spam though). The Leviticus 22:3 came from comicbookgirl19 Youtube video, "Prometheus Mysteries"... I just explored it further. And there were bits of cool ideas I picked up from reading posts on this very board, like the Weyland logo matching the winged sun logo! Basically, I had friends that were complaining that the movie Prometheus didn't go into the whole Ancient Astronaut theory enough, so I thought it would be fun to "mash-up" Chariots of the Gods with Prometheus. And while I was putting the video together, it got out of hand, and I started coming up with my own ideas like the Large Hadron Collider and the Pythagora/flute thing. I know I skipped over the whole Xenomorph aspect, but after a week of sleepless nights obsessing over the film's symbolism, I just had to wrap it up and post up what I had on Youtube. Peace out!

You are pretty intelligent Man! The most compelling aspect of your analysis involved the concept that the head in the temple is a likeness of David. That is mind blowing - considering the extraordinary idea of time travel. In the traditional theme of Prometheus David does take knowledge from the "Gods" . Also, Weyland's reign is over and his "son" now is "King". Would you please expound on this concept?

If humans become the engineers, why would they go back and destroy humans? Ridley Scott said many times that the Engineers are like Dark Angels, really ugly and not to fuck with. I rather stay with Scott's story, cos he is the Engineer of Prometheus and its his story. People tend to make Prometheus a real life thing that actually happened or will happen. Its Scifi and only old Ridley will decide where the story goes. I know the way it will go down, cos I am Ridleys grandson, but I wont tell.

Nice one! A good analysis. I don't think we need the particle accelerator and time travel stuff, but a lot of the symbolism that you mention is undoubtedly spot on. By the way, the bit about string theory that you say you don't understand is actually a pretty simple concept at its basic level... The tiniest of particles that make up our world cannot be described in terms of every-day objects. Instead, physicists imagine them as being like incredibly small, flexible needles that they call strings (it's just a word). Such a needle can vibrate, like a tuning fork. The faster it vibrates, the more energy it has. When the string has one particular amount of energy it is called an electron. When it has another particular amount of energy it is called a neutrino, etc. etc. In other words, depending on how fast it is vibrating, a string can BE any of the particles that we know in the universe. Note that the vibration frequency can only take on certain discrete values. Like the notes on a piano keyboard, the strings are "quantized", hence we only have a relatively small number of types of particle in our universe. Or something like that! My take on it.

Hey thanks for the comments everyone! I've been spending the last few days replying to the comments on the Youtube page for the video. I'm actually one of those people who dropped out of my Intro to Chemistry class, but excelled in my Liberal Arts courses. Making this video really brought out my passion for science. I admire all the smart people out there who can calculate the distance travelled with light years and somehow come up with LV223 being in the Zeta Reticuli star system, that just blows my mind! LOL Oh and regards to the David evolving into the Monolith head, that idea came from thinking about what Carl Sagan said in his documentary "Cosmos." "When our genes could not store all the information necessary for our survival, we slowly invented brains. But then the time came, maybe tens of thousands of years ago, that we needed to know more than could be conveniently stored in brains. So we learned to stockpile enormous amounts of information outside our bodies. We are the only species as far as we know to have developed a communal memory, and the warehouse of that memory is called the library." - Carl Sagan ...now, that "library" has evolved into digital storage, and in future world of Prometheus, information is gathered and stored in David, who eventually evolves into the Monolith head -- the keeper of the forbidden knowledge of time travel. David's severed head can also be a Christian symbol. It reminds me of the "Beheading of St. John the Baptist"... who was basically the precursor to Jesus!
