Good acting by Charlize Theron right there, she doesn't look confident holding that flamethrower and confronting everyone, but she's not going to let Holloway in, and she looks horrified at what she has to do to stop him.

Your right, there is a missing scene between Holloway getting toasted and Shaw being in the medical bay with David.
Shaw should have some sort of freak out, and so should Vickers, who was obviously not happy to have killed someone with a flamethrower.
Odd, that these scenes are cut. In theoriginal Alien, the scene where Lambert hits Ridley for not wanting to let them in is also cut. But there are good scenes.
Somebody is going to be very pi$$ed off in a situation like that, and it's just skipped over.

That Lambert vs Ripley scene was GOLD

....but when holloway is getting toasted their is that heartbreaking hysterical scream...at one moment i thought it was holloway....but it was in fact shaw screaming....I thought it was rather sad and disturbing and Vickers looked sad afterwards....but i want her to break down a little as well...i can't help but feel that Theron's talent was waisted a little....maybe it was cut for some odd reason or maybe ridley thought it would'nt have added much?....i think it would have....I am also crushed how vickers died...no pun intended!

I recently saw alien again on tv...after like 25 years...i saw lambert slapping Ripley in one scene...i don't remember that from the original cut...it was rather interesting....i liked lambert as well...her fear was intoxicating....her role was essential!

One of my favorite scenes in Alien is between Lambert, Parker and Kane. Its the scene were they are all eating right after Kane had recuperated, and right before the Xeno burts out of Kanes chest. There are certain sexual innuandos thrown around by Parker to Lambert about eating. You can see Lambert blush. These small scenes are what made Alien so special. Those scenes were you could see that this crew of people were human and not robots on a mission. Well, at least six of them were human. But its the small scenes which made Alien great.
