Before 'Prometheus' release, there were a number of viral videos including Guy Pearce speaking at TED. Does anyone agree that these are prequels to the film itself? If not, what are they?
Part of the promotion. Creating hype so that when people watch movie they become comfortable with the concept. I think atleast TED and few videos were necessary because they make it easy for audience to understand the set is in future. I know but people can be that dumb...

They are indeed advertising and most are pre prometheus but some are not exact in date - I was hoping they would actually tell us some meaty facts or fill in some interesting info even though they were really well made in parts they ultimately havn't done much apart from advertise on the whole (with the websites as well) - imagine how cool it would be to release info helping you to understand the film properly - real meaty info not this wishy washy stuff - anyway theres still time for more :D ...
