Honestly, despite what I mention in my blog, overall, I did like the movie. http://whythemovieprometheusfails.blogspot.com/

Understood and point well taken Chris, but for the most part you supported what my blog touted, and I did say I enjoyed the movie. But come on, in this age of Ancient Aliens there was not much revealed one could not have already surmised from this movie with the aid of that weekly television show. The bottom line is they go through all this trouble and find our makers to be hulking brutes? (I explained in my blog why that could have been so) Maybe the next movie will fare better and maybe the two survivors will return to earth having saved earth from the Architects, only to have a far worse fate, in what they, themselves have brought back. C’mon Hollywood, let’s use more untapped imagination next time, along with those big bucks. BTW, great job on this site, from one fellow CIW to another.

Question: "Did Prometheus bring home the fire?" Answer: No, but made me some 6.0 Euros poorer.

I read your blog. I respect your opinions, but you mention that Prometheus is 80% eye candy and 20% story.. If anything, Prometheus had too much story to completely explore in the 2 hours and 6 minutes it runs for. I think it spawned many sub-stories which can be explored in later sequels, not lack thereof. I do agree the visuals were stunning and by far some of the best effects I've seen in a very long time. Prometheus definitely set the standard visually. The thing I just wish most people could appreciate is the NEED our generation has for something ambiguous. I am so tired of films like Battleship and Battle L.A and Skyline - where it's so generic it's boring to watch, cause you know how it will end every time. Prometheus is the first Sci Fi film in a long time to really explore some ambiguous questions - and to match, the plot was ambiguous. This is true science fiction and I'm very much looking forward to the sequels that follow. If Prometheus was written anything like ALIENS - yeah, I would enjoy it. But I would leave the theater and grab a pizza and think to myself "yep, good movie". But with Prometheus - I left the theater with so many questions and a few answers. I enjoy that. I haven't stopped thinking about the questions raised in Prometheus, and I doubt I will for a while - because that was the goal of the film - to make us THINK. As much as I appreciate your opinion, I think it's a bit over dramatic to say the film "FAILS". The only thing it FAILS at, is going along with the mainstream, boring sci fi films which have polluted our theaters for the past 5-10 years.
