He worked on I Am Legend and Ridley Scott was concidered to be the director for that but his envisioning was going to place to big a budget upon an idea they were not sure would work with just one actor as primary focus mostly throughout the entire project. If I did read correctly somewhere else and remeber hearing Ridley Scott talk about this in an audio commentary somewhere he helped the production visualisation of the I Am Legend world but he passed on it and the film went to someone else Franco something and the grand concept that Ridley had concieved for it was maintained and thus the budget was kicked up. Akiva Goldsman has been linked to many high brow subjects and is a creative writer in his thinking and ideas so I think he would be a very good choice for concideration at least.

have to research that Akima fellow. I would like the guy from XFiles to do the writing. that show was good [90% of it anyways... the family issues could be left out, though]

Yes, Don'tt you think he, with his track record, would make a very good choice for scripting duties? He is very clever the way he writes things. He has an impressive cv and his working credits speak for itself.

Akiva Goldsman would be a excellent choice. The other question is who to direct? We think Ridley should but if there is a conflict with scheduling, I will go out on a limb here (please be gentle) I think J.J. Abrams could do the sequel. I thought he did a great job with the ST reboot. Just a thought.

Akiva Goldsman's writing record is littered with some GOOD and some BAD, some verrry baaad: 2009 Angels & Demons (screenplay) 2007 I Am Legend (screenplay) 2006 The Da Vinci Code (screenplay) 2005 Cinderella Man (screenplay) 2004 I, Robot (screenplay) 2001 A Beautiful Mind (written by) 1998 Practical Magic (screenplay) 1998 Lost in Space (written by) 1997 Batman & Robin (written by) 1996 A Time to Kill (screenplay) 1995 Batman Forever (screenplay) 1994 Silent Fall (written by) 1994 The Client (screenplay) Whoever scripts Paradise, Ridley Scott HAS TO DIRECT, granted.

Yes, definately Ridley Scott, I would be absolutely happy with that, of Course! Akiva Goldsman as script writer would be just a fine combination. J.J.Abrahams yes could be alright, I would be very confident with the second choice to Ridley Scott being Christopher Nolan, if he wanted to that is. I would be supremely confient with his abilities as a director if Ridley Scott was not involved for what ever reason. I think he would want to though as he is afan of his own franchise as we are too! :-)

Christopher Nolan is a great director but it's a RIDLEY SCOTT FILM. For me, Ridley knows how to treat this material (God, I so wish I didn't know Lindelof was fundamental to LOST), this visually intriguing/philosophical material. Ridley all the way, else broken franchise - just like Aliens (as much horror-fun as it was) BROKE the original alien concept. Sorry, Queen Alien was a totally wrong and unnecessary direction for Giger's original alien to go in. Why? Well, weren't HOSTS turned into eggs? This might have been misinterpreted as it was CUT from the original Alien, but it was in the lore. Dallas, in that cut scene, was mutating into an egg - i.e. no need for Queen, though it was a good powerlifter fight sequence. THIS BROKE THE FRANCHISE, for me.

Again, it is interwoven throughout the franchise that their exists simultaneously both the Alien Queen and the self replicating version of its life cycle should it, drone or otherwise, be isolated from the colony as a whole. to which it is local to. The further it gets away from the colony within its local vicinity then preperations kick-in which sets in motion the emergence and re-establishment of a new colony. Also, it took two films to progress the evolutionary cycle of the Alien. The film Aliens did not interfere with the Alien canon at all, you have to accept that the Queen was already in existence when the events of Alien were playing out we just never saw them on film that don't mean that prior to the Alien films events from begining the Queen was not already going about her buisiness or between cuts from one scene to another during key moments in the timeline of Alien that the Queen was alive even then during theses moments but again, her existence in the canons timeline just takes place off camera. We never see her directly show but it does not negate the fact that she was not there all the time, in some way, lurking in the background or the shadows of the LV 426 planet but we, after watching the events of Aliens, have to imply that she was there for an age before the Nostromo came across the mysterious alien signal of the Space Jockey. The alien life form has many mechanisms to ensure its survival and short-cuts around the road blocks of evolution and extinction.

I would love Chri Nolan to direct PARADISE but it seems that his specialty is twisty suspense thriller like MEMENTO or INCEPTION (which I think is brilliant in parts but too overlong & bloated overall, always a problem in a "it's all a dream" type of plot mechanics

I know what you are saying Solaris, however, if he were confirmed on-board as director of one of the future franchises then I would be suitably happy with him as he has more than proved himself that he is suitable for the job and up for the task. I would like to see him involved in an expansion to the Blade Runner franchise, a prequel to Blade runner as Ridley Scott should do the sequel like he wanted to, I also think both Chris Nolan and Zack Snyder should both swap franchises and each have a go at directing the others future franchise films (i.e.) after Superman: Man of Steel Zack Snyder should then direct three further Batman films in his unique 300/Sucker Punch style. Where as Chris Nolan should direct two more Superman films or at least one to succeed the Man of Steel at least. That would be good.
