MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 12:35 PMHas anyone thought to consider that the FaceHugger it's self is just a vehicle or a temporary vessel in which the real intelligence is actually the seed or baby xeno and thus it is just a temporary construct that is driven towards a new host.
You know I am probably just late to the party as usual as in this case of the Facehugger being driven by the now active baby xenomorph. Please be gentle with me... for I am just a scrub and only seek enlightenment... from those around me.

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 12:51 PMFacehugger looks more like shell for worm. that worm gets inside the host and then matures.
The very idea of needing another host for hatching, makes it parasite IMO.
Oh well, in that case, all aliens are born male and only one odd gal came out them when she decides to change her mind lol.

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 1:17 PMI have found that the need for a host odd... in that it only seems to be a warm place to mature and eat... and also gather additional DNA from the host to replicate that host's physiology (biped/quadruped/etc.).

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 1:25 PMI think the part about warm place to keep and eat was covered in Alien:Requiem (can't go much deeper, get the hint).
That said, I think the idea is very scary for a parasite like that. We have worms that feeds on our brain, heart and kidney tissues but they just kill us from inside. They don't come out saying "meow" lol. That imagination in that time or even today is scary.

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 2:07 PMWell this is a fiction creation for the movies LOL... and I always have to see how far folks will that the topic... present company excluded... In some ways the original life cycle did not make sense... Hide out in a self created egg (or Queen), jump on any viable host passing by, grow and ( do gods know what inside the host), jump out and run around either killing or gathering more hosts... kind a boring existence... even for a bio-weapon...

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 2:11 PMAlien and Piranha movies tells you why people pass out when they have other life in their womb or stomach. Maybe pain is just too big to handle.

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 2:16 PMI am going to suggest to you that the facehugger being, effectively, an, "ambulatory penis", has been considered, and understood, generally, for some several decades?...
Other than that, I'd say, yes: it is a sound conclusion for you to have come to.
I have always considered the actual overall life-cycle a little over-complex and actually bordering on the nonsensical - but so entertaining.

MemberTrilobiteJul-09-2012 2:21 PMIMO Facehugger = symbiotic carrier
Single minded, sole purpose organism whose goal leads to its death because of the loss of connection with the embryo, to which it shared its life functions with in a symbiotic manner...
something like that anyways...

MemberOvomorphJul-09-2012 5:40 PMYes, I have understood the purpose of the facehugger and it's origins from Dan O'Bannon (God rest his soul) for the outset... I just think it's really cool to see a baby xeno driving around in a facehugger like a Nightmarish Race Car.... being home sick can do that to you...thanks for all the comments...
