Origin of the Engineer

Well its not like its stealing, Ridley Scott and Dan O'bannon worked together on Alien together, so if Ridley saw something cool that Dan did, then im sure Dan was cool with it... where can i finds this comic, how old is it? maybe Dan got the idea from Ridley?

It was released in 1976, in the pages of a french SF magazine "Metal Hurlant". This magazine was published in the US with the name "heavy metal".

Sorry your right, they started illistrating in 1975, so Ridley borrowed it from Dan. Actually a lot of the pictures look similar to other movies made by Scott, Blade Runner And Alien. Type it into Google Images and you can see a lot of the scaned pictures.

Great find! I can't wait until all the "references" to other movies, comics, shows, etc used in Prometheus....are all gathered into one big library. It's a big treasure hunt that's for sure.. Also while on the topic of references and the giant facehugger......the moment when Shaw came back to the medpod room when the door was closed, and one of the giant facehuggers tentacles smacks the glass....it reminded me ALOT of this scene! http://youtu.be/wwhI7qdrsaA I can't find a video of that scene but only a few seconds before where the guy slams into the glass, because that's the part I'm reminded of....but hopefully you get the hint.

You're right mvmnt, the strange temple and the escape of the planete in the opening story of the star (la planète encore) are very closed to Prometheus : archeology, mysticism and science-fiction !
