Engineer bellybuttons

It could mean that they were born from engineer woman?? I don't imagine a clone or Andriod would a belly button although I did notice that the Deacon was 'attached' to a yolky sac by a type of biological cord and he was born from a male Engineer .. hmmmm :)

Belly Button means they were 'organically attached' to a 'placenta' of some kind; doesn't have to show in-utero gestation, just connection. :)

Thanks FreePlanet I remember you talking about this on another thread :) Im just trying to isolate some possible sources for the Engineers to me the belly button does mean that are not derived through cloning or robotics and may be bio mechanical but having their belly button means the reproduction side is still heavily organic... Im guessing

of course, it's all speculation: but someone on another thread suggested that 'clean Engineer' evolved into alien-infested-Pilot over the course of years since it planted us here. Could be -- there's still loads of potential for the ALIEN-ENGINEER WARS where the Engineers end up doing what the Roman Empire did to the European countries' people, turn them into 'museum exhibits' in Arenas of Sexual Death. :) You see where my belly button is pointing?

They made quite the point of Shaw detaching Cuddles from the umbilical cord also. I think this was more so to give it a distinction to it's creation in a more biological fashion as opposed to being a foreign body gestating in the chest burster. Although then doesn't that make the Deacon, with it's cord - and THAT sac - a slight ambiguity from the classic facehugged - chesburster formula? I guess they have to feed to grow however.

Also, i'm more intrguiged by all the various holes and pipes feeding into them in their own hypersleep chamber.

@ MVMNT I thought that was interesting too It would be great if someone could get an image of the Engineer with all of his gear in the chamber all these things may hint at their biological background also funny that the Engineer holograms were fully kitted up with breathing masks etc but when BOB appears he is all OK without it I guess they may have been getting ready for departure or... maybe it was because they came from outside but Bob was OK out there too actually....come to think of it why did they even need that gear anyway???

tankgirl, even in the production sketches, the four Pilots were depicted IN CRYO wearing their 'elephant costumes'. :)

Oh yeah ....forgot about those images I think I was visualising the pilot holograms that David watched as he sat in the pilots seat I dont think they had their Ele-suits on Ele-suit [chuckle] :)

THe suits seem to be of different sizes,, Male and female? Also compared to Shaw's suit,,they seem much bulkier..for such an advanced race..

@zzplural ha ha ha ha ha ha Its Ok @Indy John while you were checking the size of the suits out I was wondering how they could run in those boots! I bet Father Ted has a pair of those wellys ! :)

I guess the creatures just need a place to hatch so host's gender does not matter. even they can stay inside stomach from what we see in AVP or other alien movies. Engineers on the other hand share similarity with us so they must have a mother or atleast some queen.

So........ hopefully we might get to see them in the sequel..... That would be cool :)
