and wondering..... where were their cryo chambers?
We only saw 4 of the chambers and I am guessing that they were for the pilots
but there only seemed to be one control chair?
It got me thinking
How many other Juggernauts could be left still on LV-223 and are there still engineers in waiting?

MemberOvomorphJul-15-2012 12:00 AMJust one of the many questions I have asked.
No part of David's explanation to Shaw other than "there are many other ships" suggests how many, or what sorts of things are lurking around or on board on any one of them.
David evidently knows there are many other ships, as do we- due at least three other domes being visible when the Prometheus approached it's landing site.
But does he know what's gone on with even one of them? Does he know that they are without the history of the one the film centers around? Even if he can read/interpret the characters inscribed on the wall, how does he know if the other "sites" are the same or not the same?
It is shown that David-head & Shaw depart the planet, so the other ships must still have been serviceable. And it is assumed that they didn't have corpses, containers of Black Goo or sleeping engineers on board.
The ending of the film was way too much of an express train to address these questions.

I agree it as an express train.....but I have to admit to enjoying the ride! :)
" there are many other ships"
also brings up
where were they all destined to travel too
many planets?
surely not ALL to earth! Gulp :0
maybe each ship is carrying certain type of terraforming or cleansing life forms
and are all the ships the same ?
so many questions
so fun!
maybe LV-223 has more to offer a sequel than we are giving credit
running parallel to David Shaw travels

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphJul-15-2012 2:57 AMthere were several mounds, 6 or 7 at least... For some reason a lot of the engineers came from their ships to the first ship which the crew of Prometheus visited, out of alarm I suspect. (and obviously met their fates)
Something went wrong.

I thought there may have been 3 or 4
do you know that because of the art book?
I guess if I estimate the SJ as 10 dead in the pile up that may be 2 or 3 ships
so still a few SJ left is stassis
cool! :)

MemberOvomorphJul-15-2012 7:44 AMThe four cryo chambers that we see are very much tied in with the Engineer pilots/navigators (four of them).
Maybe there are different castes of Engineer who have their own sleeping arrangements in other parts of the ship.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

Yes and better there be a cryo chamber for each one of them..otherwise a thinking Engineer..would help cause a mutiny.
Engineers,,well as I recall they all sort of looked the same ..in the holographs and on the pile...but were they all equal in abilities.? I suspect not..so that ties into your caste system comment..

MemberOvomorphJul-15-2012 12:15 PMWell, I've been wondering if the Juggernaut of Shaw and David have cryo chambers with Engineers inside ... or some other kind of creature on board ... after all who knows ... Also remember that the shuttle of Alien 3 had a magic egg ... it all depends on who directs a sequel I guess XD

I don’t know if I’m blind or what, but I only saw the 1 temple/dome/bio-weapon lab/or as Holloway put it “a tomb”.... Like you, so many questions and not enough answers in the movie.... with that said, the scene when/where Fifeild & Milford came across the dead engineers piled up, my best guess is that was all the Engineers at LV-223, less the sleeping Engineer.
I think the 4 cryo-tubes on the flight deck is the entire crew for 1 Juggernaut... If the Engineers have certain jobs on a Juggernaut, 1 pilot, 1 mechanic, 1 medic, 1 scientist perhaps...
How David know there were more ships is anybodies best guess, apparently he read the Engineers writings which was everywhere on the ship, the dome, the Engineer’s restroom, everywhere
If there is a part 2/sequel I hope it is partially about a rescue attempt on LV-223 and the voyage of the hi-jacked Juggernaut w/Shaw and David’s head
I should reach the frontier in about 6 weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo....

MemberOvomorphJul-15-2012 4:38 PMWell, here's the big question that's been eating at me lately: when David first enters the fligh deck of the Juggernaut there are 2 figures standing to both his left and right. Those figures seem to be Engineers who are wearing the same helmets and suits/body wear as those in the pile of dead Engineers who are found by Fifield and Milburn. David shines his flashlight on the second of the figures to his right and we can see very clearly that the head of the figure has running down it's surface dried black goo that seems to originate from the top of the head.
That image can be seen via the below link.

Who/what were those figures and how did they remain upright if they were dead? How do they relate to the figues in the flight deck holographic playback and to the 3 dead Engineers in the hyper-sleep chambers?
I also want to know what happened to the Engineers who were ahead of the decapitated Engineer? The holographic video seems to suggest that they more than likely went into the ampule room ahead of the Engineer who stumbles and is then decpaitated by the descending door. Are they the ones who shut the door to the ampule chamber?
I really hope that 10.11.12 brings us something better than just a Happy Meal with a plastic figurine of The Deacon! Actually, that would be kind of cool except for the part about McDonald's.

Of course not ..they would want all of the crew to survive,.. As I recall the last Engineer was looking back..at ..what we don't know../
David only showed this film to tie into the headless Engineer.. to divert attention away from the real mission:Sactrifice the crew and get Shaw off the moon..
Also were any of the Engineers using any kinds of weapons??..at anytime?

THis David statement has recieved some attention but i think there is still more to mined.
Since David was a sort of independent explorer when in the pyramid it did seem like he might have stumbled on several Juggernauts sort of based at this pyramid. THat sort of made sense.
But in the closing scene with Shaw heading toward waht i assuje to be the Juggeranut they will used to travel they are going to different pyramid perhaps the next in line.
Short of ESP David either learned while visiting Pyramid #1...or already had some additional knowledge
before landing.
If there is a 3rd option please advise. Many Prometheus fans would enjoy a solid answer.
