I don't think the guess is weird. The movie is. I liked it but its too enigmatic for its own good. The vickers/ Weyland relashionship is a good example. There's a whole backstory missing just for the sake of keeping you guessing and it doesn't even matter because they both end up dead in the end.

Even if Vickers was an Android... the Captain has been space-bound for over 5 years... do you really think he cares or not... as long as everything works... then it is just a matter of programming... LOL Vickers is an enigma... to be sure. Always like threads like this, they start very innocent and ask a very straight forward question, and then crazy people like me (am I human, kat persuasion, or android) try to answer it. maybe Vickers is a ladyboy and when Captain Janek had sex with her, it was too late and he could not live with that surprise and therefore was willing to sacrifice himself by ramming Prometheus into the Juggernaut.

There did not seem many couples in the crew make up..but they are professionals..and wouldn't let perdssonal needs interfere with the mission. And even if all you say is true,well the timing is what throws me off. A person with a storm raging..would not be thinking of the 'needs' when crew members are in danger.. Vickers didn't show much emotion throughout the movie...except when the mission was threatened,,,just like a good Android should do. like having sex with the Captain.if Vickers thought it would help get the job done. As far as the Captain..well maybe he was an andriod too!

Yea a drinking Captain on an unknown moon..missing crew members and some mysterious happenings.. I could understand some diversions. With all this going on who is running the Prometheus?

You're wrong about Vickers not showing emotions. She showed emotions throughout the whole movie. She was angry at David having more info, worried and anxious when Shaw was looking at the med pod. The only time she didn't show emotions she was actually trying to hide the fact she was happy Weyland was dead. She was really scared when she was headed for the escape pods and when the juggernaut turned her into pancake. Androids don't show fear. Theyre program to show emotion for empathy. She had none. People are confusing that with lack of emotion.

No one seems to remember that Pris in Blade Runner was a "basic pleasure model". So if replicants in that world could be prostitutes, I'm pretty sure Vickers, if she was a robot, could too. Personally I dont think she was a robot and thats part of the irony as to Weyland loving an artificial son more than a natural daughter.

I believe that it is probable that Trans-gender surgery in the future would be a complete deal, chromosomes and all. No need to differentiate for future medical emergencies. But by the same token, why would an automated surgical pod be gender-specific? If the "Configured for male" med pod (mentioned just before Wayland's appearance-NOT when Shaw first saw it) was meant to be a hint that Vickers biological gender was Male, the film overlooked the presence of the medic Ford amungst the crew in the end. Although I regard Vickers as the most mysterious person up to the point where her father shows up, insofar as Vickers being actually born a male- I don't think so. The med pod being "configured for males" is more of a hint that there is a male that nobody knows about on board- (Wayland)- more likely. And lo & behold, just such a male shows up within minutes!!

Vickers shows just enough emotion when the mission is in danger(She may know a little or,,alot) She is cold..disciplined..almost robotic in actions and emotional displays. But seemingly being destroyed more than her 'brother' David..well she need more than her memory banks to pull her charactor into the next episode..

I just figured she was just illegitimate. Different last names, her role with the company possibly due more to a paternity test than Weyland wanting her there. The Lost guy probably watched an episode of Game of Thrones, thought it was cool, and tried to throw in a Jon Snow (among others) angle at the last second.

RW no one is forgetting anything about Blade Runner because we are not talking about that damn movie. A robot is not the same as a replicant. Blade runner happens in a different universe where tecnology is much more advanced than the one shown in Prometheus. If the captain wanted to have sex with Vickers it's because she's hot. She could be a tree- you could still have sex with her. The point is he would be able to tell the difference. By her saying yes to the proposal proves she's not a robot.

"..headed for the escape pods.." Did android Vickers reealize that there was no hope for survivial with this Captain and opted for the escape pod because it was 'logical'? Or did the human Vickers come to same conclusion and preferring self preservation ..(and didn't want to go down with the ship) take the pod route?.? As depicted in the movie she is a goner.. However.the camera only shows you what Ridley want you to see...

Yes that is the what is protrayed on screen.. I am sort of hoping to get more carryover charactors in the sequal..
