MemberOvomorphJuly 21, 2012When Fifield and Millburn are stuck in the pyramid by themselves in the room with the urns they exchange what looks like a backwards "peace sign", does anyone else think this may be a future middle finger? I think it may be.

@Lilith; The reverse "V" sign, is a traditional British insult, not to be confused with the victory sign. The insulting gesture consists of flipping the index and middle finger upwards with the fingernails facing the target. It's a very old and very British way of giving the finger. It isn't futuristic at all. :)

That two fingered salute was apparently first used in the Hundred Years War (1337 to 1453) by British archers against their French counterparts. After firing their arrows and surviving the counter-attack, the British would hold two fingers up like that to illustrate to the French that they still have both their fingers intact and can therefore fire more arrows.
It was later popularised by the likes of Liam Gallagher of Oasis and was described by Bob Flanagan in the book 'U2 At The End Of The World' as 'the Irish bird' when Bono and The Edge made the gesture towards a radio report that they found disagreeable.
I'm a Brit and so have used it several times myself, Ridley Scott probably has too!

"..Of course someone of my refinement would never dream of using it!!!.."
Surely people in the Prometheus world had self expressions like the examples mentioned..
If they did it would humanize the Engineers..

I was joking when I said that I would buy the DVD, my sign is the sign of the Raised Red Banner of Poor Film Making, Raise your banners people and march like you have never marched before... Make known you irritation and irrelevant behavior and march all the wall to Ridley's Castle and protest! Make it so delivery men cannot deliver his paper or his milk in the morning, be so loud he has to play the his Telly at volume 7 instead of 4. Cast aside you humanity and dignity and Continue to hold the Red Banner high so all can see it in the 6 O'clock local news. Create an Occupy Ridley's Castle website and post funny videos of the crowds of despite people that seem so unpleased with his latest work of fiction and entertainment. Chant so loud, you sound like Bee's during mating season.... You Are The Power, and the Glory Forever!

I have another riddle for you - what happens if a crew member farts in his astronaut suite? And does this have anything to do with the bible or coran or book of dianetics? Maybe the fart is the holy ghost, or does someone become prometheus as he/she gives a warm cruel fart to the humans on the ship, expecting nothing bad?
Hmm... lets THINK about it, maybe 3 weeks or even longer, but i can help you save the TIME, in explaining - its NONSENSE...
July 22, 2012
Farts are the inner evil that man's does, and if he farts in his suit hopefully the air filters will scrub it out of the system... Nonsense is the expression of misunderstanding (at least to me) but then I think differently than most people (99.999 percent - I have been told by the educators and doctors). I thrive on irrelevance and oh not so clear objectives as to cause confusion and dismay. Life for me is a long string of misquote and jump to conclusion by others, so I take that energy and create an art of words and of humor; of sudden inspiration and thoughtfulness, of going where cultured people tend not to tread. I like the Red Banner idea though...
