Confirming AVP as canon?

Hey mates. Some of you might know that there's a tumblr site called "Ask David 8" or "Technology at its finest", where users can submit questions about david 8 or anything related to weyland corp to be answered later (Link ---> [url=http://askdavid8.tumblr.com/]Your text to link here...[/url]). I'm not sure if it was mentioned in this forum, I searched and didn't find nothing, but I remeber a similar thread... Well, anyway: I thought that site was part of prometheus viral campaign, but after seeing the following question I highly doubt it: [i]Anonymous asked: Do you know who Charles Bishop Weyland was? Answer: The father of Peter Weyland, who is the current head of Weyland Industries[/i] Does someone know if the site's official?

I don't think that's an official statement, but rather someones opinion. There's no proof of that unless an official source comes out and says that AVP hasn't been dismissed from the continuity and is canon, and also states that Charles Weyland was Peters father, uncle or whatever. Snorkelbottom has a thread specifically on AVP being canon or not here [url=http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/9360]The FINAL Canon Debate[/url] That's also been one of his arguments on the subject is that it has never been said that YES he is Peter's father or NO he is not his father, so it leaves open the possibility that he is and would keep AVP canon, which I agree with.

The Tumblr site was denounced as a fake site awhile back, It's not official or run by Fox, it was run by a fan. So whatever is/was said there is pure fanfic. There is a legit David8 Twitter connected to the Weyland Industries site but i haven't heard anything from it since the movie was released. I dont think and never have thought about AVP as Canon or Predator for that matter. What is interesting and Canon is the Weyland family after Prometheus. Peter Weyland has no Son..... he claimed David was the Son he never had. It is believed that Vickers is Peters Daughter and not a Android, well with both dead at the end of Prometheus the question is who succeeds Peter and continues the Weyland Family Tree and CEO of Weyland Industries.

David1 said it! AVP was just an experiment in fun old fashioned fan-fiction. The studio allowed some kids to play with their fathers' firearms and the result was devastating and messy. It was an attempt to cash in on a silly scenario that had been very successful in the comic realm. Both AVPs are cinematic abominations and should be treated as such. charles bishop weyland??? who is that? ive never heard of him...

I've heard alot of people make comments on AVP NOT being canon. I can't give any links 'cos there's so many! But, i've heard a few say, AVP is part of the Predator Franchise, which does make sense as a Xeno skull apears in Predator 2 and that inspired the AVP Comics. But not once as a Predator apeared in a Alien Film (movie)!

The poster was good though!

the ending of Prometheus renders AVP non-canon as they show in AVP that the Aliens existed in ancient times, yet the ending of Prometheus shows the birth of the species in the future.
