EvP Engineer vs Predator (not movie related topic)

In a hand to hand fight, I'd put my money on an Engineer because a Predator relies too much on technology. I'd even include the new Predators in this fight result.

Let's keep canon obsession aside. Engineers look very crappy, as they are our ancestors (based on DNA match) stuff. They are less likely to be powerful than New predator which is physically more strong.

Since the Engineers have been around longer and probably would have created Predator (if they were canon) I see an Engineer just whip out an EMP, deactivate all a Predators tech and pull their head off.

does anyone have any information on any engineer style "fire power". If they were to win a fight they would have to fight the enemy on their own terms ( pick the fight so to speak). With the strength to rip someones head off or not, if you came across someone with a M41 pulserifle....you're pretty much screwed. Even with the predators cloaking devise,it must give off alot of energy which would be detectable. An unit being aware of a predators tactics and technology would quite probably deal to the predator. with the way the human race learns through warfare and conflict , i think the predators would be on the receiving of any future engagements. but in a hand to hand fight the engineer would win ...i think

Thing with engineers is that they don't look hunting breed species. That is why they sort of developed deacon and alien IMO. lol Predators on the other hand look hunting breed and that was how they were portrayed in all the movies. That said, It would be good concept for some pop-corn movie where engineers used alien or deacon species to eradicate other planets with different dominating species until they met predators. And fight started to save their own species, predators became hunters traveling all the galaxies to clear alien xeno out. LOL me and my stories :D

I remember when a similar question was posed donkey's years ago regarding aliens v predators. At the time, I pointed out that the Predator is f***ed if his batteries run out. Things haven't really changed.

Longtime lurker, seldom commenter here. I'd have to give this fight to the Engineers. Even though the Predators look like they hit the gym on a regular basis, they do seem to be predisposed to an almost reliance on technology while hunting. The Last Engineer came out of stasis straight into handing out pimp backhands, and never reached for a gun. While it has yet to be demonstrated, I wouldn't put it past the Engineers to have some kind of "normal" weapons, but I get the feeling that really just isn't their forte. Rather, it's been proven they have focused on at least two types of technology: space flight (and all that entails), and bio-technology. Even though they don't carry sidearms, and their craft doesn't seem to be fitted with the obvious laser blasters and photon torpedoes, I wouldn't be surprised if they did possess other kinds of technology that could be considered weapons. Some kind of "nullifier", perhaps? Something that would shut down somebody else's technology? I mean, if you're so ancient and wise (nee, learned), why rely on getting lucky (using guns and other types of projectile weapons), when you could just flip a switch?
