MemberOvomorphAug-21-2012 5:08 PMAfter waiting about 2 years for the movie it was hell to wait the last 2 months.
Not to lurk on this site on which im really addicted
Not to see a bad stream version of the movie, it was hard but last thursday i watched the movie teh second time.
I understood him, ilove teh way the movie lets things open so we must use our brain and our fantasy, but still i have a few questions.
First sorry for possible errrors but english is not my motherlanguage
1:the scene where david opens the first door. In the hiroglyphs there is green slime and david analyses it. He even smells on it.
What is that slime alien resin, deacon resin from what the engeneers are running from?? But 2000 years old resin probably not.
Help
2:when david analyses the urn he detects on the top of it, idont know what he said in englisch but in german he sait "schweiss", it should be sweat.
Does that mean that besides every urn there was once a human who sweated,
or is it engeneer sweat???
3:After Charly is infected why can he kiss shaw and she didnt get infectet.
Why is just his sperma infecting her dead egg?? Why not mouth to mouth kissing.
4:After david is saving shaw and charly from the storm why is charly getting so angry and begins to drink, while shaw and ford are examing he dead engeneer head.Is he jellousor angry because the gods are all dead??
5:I know that probably no one can answer this question but i would like to know what happens in the second holo scene. After the engeneer uses the flute to activate the ship another engeneer comes and they two talk alittle bit.Would love to hear the translation.
6:How would the lasst engeneer attack earth. Would he heroic kamikaze himself to make a black goo ground zero.Or would he drop one urs lets say every 100km or miles
at least i dont understand why so many people do not like the movie.
the only expanation is that the haters do not like to use their imagination when they watch movies.I sorry for them because they miss a very outstanding movie.
thx for your answers my fanboys and gurls

MemberNeomorphAug-21-2012 7:49 PMHello Offworld Seeder. The questions that you are posing, are just some of the questions that the rest of us have. The Film is too Ambiguous, so we are forced to debate these Misteries in order to try and salvage what little Sanity we have left!
All we can do, at the moment, is theorise. So...
1) I think it has something to do with the Alien or "xenomorph" Hahaha,(that name cracks me up). What David stretches between his fingers, looks, very much like a Silicon substance, to me, and what does ASH say, in Alien, about the Alien? That it's made mainly of Silicon, which makes it one tough SoB.
2) That probably means that the Urn (Ampule) is Sweating. That the Goo is sweating from the Ampules Pores.
3) Don't know.
4) I would say he's VERY dissapointed.
5) We don't have the Translation for that conversation between the Engineers yet. I don't think.
6) We will just have to use our Imaginations for that, for now.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphAug-21-2012 11:10 PMOffworld,
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie and that you enjoy thinking about it. Not everyone thinks that it is too ambiguous. Some people enjoy a good mystery and look forward to answers and more questions in the sequel(s).
1. Someone suggested that the green slime is Engineer blood, which seems reasonable to me. The head from the running Engineer that they found did explode, after all, so it's possible that others did, too.
3. We don't know how the embryo grew inside Shaw. Perhaps it was a worm that entered her body via semen.
4. Yes, Holloway isn't jealous or angry in this scene. He was expecting to meet his makers and speak with them, not a tomb and a dead body. So he was extremely disappointed, to put it mildly.
6. It's not completely certain that the Engineer was going to attack the Earth. Possible but not certain.

MemberNeomorphAug-22-2012 4:28 AM@zzplural. Regarding the Engineers head, that explodes. When it explodes, does anything Green come out of it? I'm Colour Blind, so i didn't see what the colour was.

MemberOvomorphAug-22-2012 7:56 AMIt was a sort of greyish greenish sludge IIRC.

MemberNeomorphAug-22-2012 9:25 AMZZplural. Thanx, IIRC indead. That's probably his brain then? Grey matter. I thought the substance, that David stretches between his fingers, was like a strong, translucent, Silicon gel like substance?
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphAug-22-2012 10:06 AMThe slime didn't look particularly strong, but it was certainly translucent and gel-like, with a sparkly interior when disturbed. Engineer blood is only one theory, but there's no denying the fact that the corridor would have seen a lot of splatter 2000 years ago.

MemberNeomorphAug-22-2012 4:28 PMThe substance didn't look strong? Are we talkin about the same substance? When they first enter the Temple, just before he runs his fingers across the Hiraglyphs? To me, it seemed like he was having difficulty stretching it between his fingers. Watch the trailer:

It's at about 1.34, on the American Trailer.

MemberNeomorphAug-23-2012 7:39 AMMaybe? It does look like Silicon Gel though...

MemberOvomorphAug-23-2012 10:54 AMYeah, that's what the production team probably used!
It's silicone gel, by the way.
