What we do not really know exactly is what that achieved, and where it was achieved. What we have seen is Cuddles the squid, which would certainly be more suited to an aquatic environment. The Cobrahugger would appear to be amphibian. The Engineers are land based. It’s at this point I’m starting to think ‘chicken’.
Bird’s use an egg tooth to break through the shell, which after a short time falls off. The Deacon’s protrusive head may serve the same purpose. Maybe this shrinks back. A chick is also flightless, and when you look at a chick it’s overall look does not suggest something that is going to fly. So, strange as this may seem, is it possible that the fully grown Deacon has the ability to fly.
