Here comes a thought from the patitudes of High Strangeness CAUTION: IF YOU DON'T MIND ABOUT A WOMAN GETTING BIRTH TO AN ALIEN SQUID, THIS MIGHT NOT DISTURB YOU! BUT IF YOU DO, STOP READING NOW! ------------------------------------------------ A thought on the derranged relationship between Weyland, Vikers and David: By some awkward and nasty reason, Weyland sees David has "the closest thing" he has "for a son". What if David is actualy his Son... and his Grandson at the same time??? but in an artificial way.

Jiso: It seems odd doesn't it? Add the pun "ma'am" that sounds like "mom" to it, and it gets ever so weird-er. I'm starting to believe that David comes from Vickers own genetics... and Wylands "hands on" that genetics. Which, in turn would make it an artificial Incest-like thing going on... only not... but yes... but not...

I don't get it. Whatever it is that was implied, I guess it was lost on me.

BurKaZoiD: it's a sort of a joke, but then again, it may not be. Allow me to explain: There are a lot of "family" issues in the Alien Universe. A lot of Alien pregnancies, computers called "mother" and "father", sexual innuendo and alien/android rape. Considering that Vickers and David 8 are somewhat "alike" and that Weyland his their "father"; and that there seems to be a lot of grudge between Weyland and Vickers and Vickers with David 8; and that David 8 adresses Vickers with the pun "ma'am" that sounds like "mom", it comes to mind that David 8 may actually be the biproduct of Vickers and Weylands. I.e. Daddy Weyland and daughter Vickers produced artificially an artificial "Son" that is a "grandson" at the same time. In other words: Artificial Incest... of sorts...

Very funny posts around here ! I think that in fact David is abused as a toy by Vickers, and he probably like it a lot ! Seriously the facts are: Peter Weyland create David as the closest appearence of Vickers, his daughter. Why ? because he just hate her so much that it is a funny provocation to her and her proper love. That was explained by Lindelof. In some way, it is Lindelofesque. About ma'am, it is from the french word Madame, meaning Madam in English !

Vyemm: David is abused by Vickers for sure. She hates the synthetic living guts out of him. Yes, ma'am comes from french "Madame" that was aglutinated by english language and serves as a pun "ma'am - mom".

ahahah funny. Well, I found the concept of knowing that we're going to die soon disturbing, scott did it in blade runner and did it again in prometheus. If I worked in space, I would like to have a death similar to the one of Frank in 2001...floating endlessly through space...until your body is decomposed...
Have you heard of phoenix asteroids? They glow in every color of the rainbow...they travel endlessly through space...

Feebs: Don't worry. By the time you get old there will be multi-task Diapers: you can feed the pidgeons and let go at the same time. I'm sure there will be a downloadable app for it so you can twitt the Prometheus Elder Members about the wonders of such a gizmo. BTW, Twitter by that time will be known as Pidgeons as a goof for the ol' folks that were born before the year 2012

Xeno: indeed he did. Fear of death is a primal thingy many try to express through art. As for Frank, blame Prometheus member HAL 9000. I told him to stop messing with the Pods.

@David 1, your lucky you do not have a Dr. Phil there. I have never seen such a show with a man that has all the answers. If Dr. Phil was still actively on the air today, he would have all the answers dealing with the movie Prometheus. As of today, all they show is he previous shows dealing w/incense, drug abuse, broken relationships, sex abuse, ect, but he always had an answer or knew where to send the complaining parties to get resolution.... He comes on at 4:00 AM in Kansas City, Mo. each and every morning, but I watch it w/my 1st morning coffee.... So where do you reside????
I should reach the frontier in about 6 weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo....

I'm from Portugal. I've seen some Dr. Phil stuff on youtube and most of it I found hilarious, not only for the kind of problematics those peeps go there with, but for the "entertainment" side of it all. Some things seem to be fake, others seem to be real... mehh... we don't have Dr. Phil but have some twisted shows as well.

@ jiso-Ripley managed to push Ash up against the wall in Alien. @ Davy-one of the ideas i had was that David8's skin and hair was created by Weyland growing his own stem cells. Maybe Vickers had him made with the purpose of using him as a sex slave? She's obviously promiscuous and Weyland as shown that he is lacking in morals and absolutely sick in the head! So it's possible.

The poster was good though!

Necro: Also a valid point. Never thought about that one. She seems to be the "dominant" kind. Now I remembered that old movie "cherry 2000"...
