Could in the near future a corporation be more powerful than a government? I mean even now a company can to a degree influence a govt. Some have saidn that the first people on mars will be from a corporation and not from a government agency.Toyota has its own small city in japan, where all goods sold come from toyota owned companies. Could there one day be a planet called COKE COLA or even planet MACDONALDS with the capital city being big mac.

It could totally happen. It's starting now. Reminds me of, of course, Alien, Blade Runner, even the war economy privitization in Metal Gear. We'll all work for frikkin' Walmart eventually.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

this has already happened, it's called the FEDERAL RESERVE. 1913, Jeckyll Island this is why you have to sign NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENTS in films, games, banking, defense industry etc, it's to USURP your supposed Constitution, your human rights under a supposedly-elected government. Overridden, since the First World War.
2013 sci-fi horror novels 'Custodian' and 'Tandem' available from Amazon, B&N, iTunes etc...

I think they already are more powerful. Some of the corporations are already have their people in the government.

Privat Money has always pressed governance one way or the other throughout History. You can Imagine the kind of pressure Nobility would make upon their own king and vice versa; the church upon the king and vice-versa as a means to an end. I will entertain your idea of Planet Coca-Cola and such. It has a lot of debatable things in that vision. To name a few: - in Planet McDonalds would they only eat McDonalds or also Pizza Hut products? - Would an entire Planet be the property of a Private or Public Company without arming the Human Rights, Animal Rights and such? - What kind of social mentality would take to call an entire Planet as a "Property" of a Company. What about those who don't agree with it? Interesting Thread man, really like it.

If I owned a planet, the Human Resource job spec would be biblical.

@david. regarding planet macdonalds. Maybe all goods wont be directly macdonalds products ie big macs mcchicken as such, maybe goods sold will be from companies that mcdonalds has an interest in. Since the macdonald corporation discovered the planets and settled there (maybe obtaining rights and also reimbursement for expenses) . I would say any discovery would result in long term gains by any company who takes such enterprise. Maybe if gains were widely known amongs the corporate world , this would drive for more exploration.

also i would go on to say (lol). That maybe in the future there will be a ruling body that will enforce at least minimal human and animal rights . Perhaps a representing body is alocated to each discovered planet. Who known what the social mentality will be, like evolution it will take a new course. maybe after thousand of years ronald macdonald will be seen a deity ( lol) . Maybe KFC will insight a revolt....the colonel has risen.

Sounds possible in the theoretical sense but I think even if the company / s did gain control of a city / country / planet there is always the chance of revolution or civil war - just look at siria right now and other countries that had dictators like libya and egypt - soon as the people get some balls its pretty much game over...so weather your a company or political dictator its all the same thing in the end...
