AdminEngineerAug-30-2012 2:10 PMWith this site being custom built, it's bound to have a few bugs here and there. So, to help me in fixing them all, if you come across any while browsing the site or doing any actions on the site, please post the buge in this thread. Do not start a new topic about it, I want to keep things organized. So please post your encountered errors here.
When posting a bug it is most helpful if you supply the action you were trying to do, the error you received and where on the site it happened.
I will do my best to fix all bugs and answer all questions as they arise.
Thanks for your help!

AdminPraetorianAug-30-2012 3:52 PMSeems the edit bug happens only with Google Chrome, Firefox and IE work fine, It was Snorky that figured this out btw.

MemberNeomorphAug-30-2012 4:05 PMChris. I have a problem. I know what you're thinking LOL. But joking aside...I still haven't got a toolbar/editor (tool icons) over the reply boxes, on anything including the PMs? The actual reply box is now white, when you first changed it from black to white, the text in my comments was very pale and i could barely see it. But now the text is black, so that's no problem! None of it is a problem to me, now i know how to upload pictures without the toolbar. But i'm just letting you know because you said that you want to sort the issues out, so you need to know. Thanx bud!
My browser is internet explorer 8 btw.
The poster was good though!

MemberTrilobiteAug-30-2012 4:11 PMN4, try downloading Internet explorer 9 and google chrome, they are the best two browsers, and its always a good idea to have more than one.

MemberNeomorphAug-30-2012 4:17 PMSnorks, could i just download IE9 without chrome. Oh oh, my home page, search engine thingy, is Yahoo. Might that have something to do with the issue?
The poster was good though!

MemberTrilobiteAug-30-2012 4:21 PMNo yahoo has nothing to do with it N4, download internet explorer 9 and let us know if you still have no icons on the reply box

MemberFacehuggerAug-30-2012 7:31 PMNot really a bug, but something that is rather bothersome to me: I don't like having to log in every time I visit the site (especially since everything takes FOREVER to load when on my phone). If it could be set up to remember cookies or something that would be great. (Or maybe that's something that *I* can change in my browser settings..?)
Thanks! :)

MemberOvomorphAug-30-2012 8:22 PMSometimes the tools for the "reply to this discussion" don't display.
I will jump from topic to topic until it displays so I can use them to post a picture or link.

AdminEngineerAug-31-2012 1:30 AM@Patient Leech - I will be looking into that, however with our system setup as it is, you session should stay active as long as you're on th site.
As for loading on your phone - we JUST launched our NEW mobile site which is 10 times better than our last one and much faster. Check it out/bookmark it:Prometheus-Movie.mobi
@Cinefan - That's very odd. But in my testing with the new text editor I've found some browsers have issues with it.. Might be cookies. But I know it's a browser-specific problem. I'm still looking into that odd bug. But thanks for mentioning it!
PS. Cinefan, what browser are you using when the tools bar acts weird?

MemberNeomorphAug-31-2012 8:46 AMHmm, it seems to be a problem relating to the Internet Explorer browsers. I'm very reluctant to use any other browser!
The poster was good though!

Gavin
MemberTrilobiteAug-31-2012 9:09 AMNo need, the four ones I use (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera) are all easy to use, safe and full of features, but for personal preference I mostly use Google Chrome, it usually runs faster and smoother than the others, in my experience.

MemberNeomorphSep-01-2012 2:44 PMRight, i've downloaded Internet Explorer 9 and still i have no toolbar/editor.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphSep-01-2012 2:48 PMWhy not try portableapps.com and download the other browsers? Portable browsers work from USB and also run from any directory on the drive. they don't need installation. See if you can get firefox or opera on portable apps instead of IE 9.

MemberNeomorphSep-01-2012 4:31 PMThanx Sky, i will look into it. Although i'm quite happy with IE at the mo. I'm still gettin used to computers, so i think i will stick to what i know, for the time being anyway. *smiley*

MemberTrilobiteSep-05-2012 6:34 AMThat's good to hear N4,
Did it come back by itself or did you download a new or more up-to-date browser?

Necronom 4
MemberNeomorphSep-05-2012 11:05 AM@Snorks. I don't know. When i logged on today, it was just there? I updated to IE9 a few days ago and have had alot of problems with it. The biggest problem for me was that the ticks, that show up next to the sites, on the search page, disappeared? Now i don't know which sites are safe. But that is an issue for my security provider to sort out. I just never get an answer from them!

MemberNeomorphSep-05-2012 11:22 AM@Snorks. I've just remembered that when i was messing about with the browser, trying to get my safesearch ticks back, i deleted my browsing history and temp files, maybe that deleted cookies aswell? I don't really know what cookies are, except for the biscuit variety but Chris said something about them maybe having an effect on the toolbar/editor on a previous reply to Cinefan, on this thread.
This is Chris's reply to Cinefan - That's very odd. But in my testing with the new text editor I've found some browsers have issues with it.. Might be cookies. But I know it's a browser-specific problem. I'm still looking into that odd bug. But thanks for mentioning it!

MemberTrilobiteSep-05-2012 11:52 AMyes, deleting your cookies and history may have solved the problem for you. I suggest others still experiencing this issue also delete their cookies and browsing history, and lets us know here if it too resolved the issue of the reply box icons not displaying.

Chris
AdminEngineerSep-19-2012 9:46 AM@necronom 4 - I found the issue that was causing the cross-browser compatibility issue and resolved it. It should show up now even on IE.
@patch - Hmm, sounds like a CSS problem not limiting the input to the width of the text field. I will work on this, should be an easy fix. Let me know if you continue to have this problem however.
