Engineer Weapons?

Pretty sure the Engineers didn't have weapons... Never saw one Engineer pull out one to defend itself. I've seen the movie enough to know. Did anyone else see the Engineer's use a weapon? Hand held device? Never saw that. Which comic are you speaking of? I'd like to see this weapon for sure! Curious.

i heard that they have spend so much time developing DNA technology and so little on developing weaponry all that they have is a sharp stick and some throwing rocks.

So far as we know engineers do not have weapons or dont seem to use them. I actually really like this, because in every scifi movie, about Aliens of a sort they always have some sort of weaponry. So its really refreshing that the engineers (so far) dont have any weapons in the conventional sense we're all familiar with. The only "weapon" the engineers seem to want and use is the bio-weapon of the xenomorph. They may have a military aspect to thier race, but their Ideals seem to be very much more than just plain old "war." Considering the engineers are such a ancient race of biengs, we could assume they may have been a war-like race once, traversing galaxies, maybe even occasionally coming across other Intelligent alien races, either learning and gaining whatever technology from them, then moving on. But Id like to think if anything, they would have eventually evolved and changed in thier metality so much since.

Unfortunately i have no idea what comic that picture came from and would love to get a hold of it so i could read the story behind it. I think what Raiken said makes a lot of sense though. however i think the engineers wouldn't leave themselves completely defenseless. They have to have more conventional weapons of some kind. I doubt they would be dumb enough to put their own world at risk by using a highly unstable bio-weapon on their own home world. I mean think about it, if another intelligent race came along with big guns to their home world they would be in serious trouble to say the least. so even if they aren't a race that goes around starting trouble odds are they still have to have a weapon to finish a stand up fight if someone else starts it with them.

We dont see them having any, but we cant rule out they have any. Anyway we are quite advanced well some nations are, and we have to remember if say the USA throw out all Morals and like Hitler showed with the Jews no remorse and would stoop to what ever level they wanted to. The USA could say nuke a country like say Ireland off the map, drop 20 Nukes and bye bye Population or Ireland.... no need for Guns, Tanks or Soldiers. But then the land would be baron and radioactive and so they would not be able to put the Island to much use. But what if the USA had developed a new Virus one that infects and spreads similar to a Cold but much faster and contagious and that the effects are like a super powered up Ebola. Imagine thus they could just drop canisters of liquid that contained such Virus and this Virus would spreads rapidly across Ireland and kill all people within 24 hours of contact. This Virus would then have a half life of say 72 hours before it dies and the USA have a Vaccine just in case. If the USA had such a Virus Bio Weapon just as i described and they was about as Moral as Hitler was, then why would they need Guns or Tanks or Bombs. Just drop the Virus on the target, wait 72 hours all population dead with the virus also dead and presto. Thats why i think we dont see the Engineers using weapons because they do not need to.

Bio weapons plain and simple.

I thought that IF the jockeys ever had such weaponry other than dangerous biological lifeforms would be a gun that fires dangerous biological matter, for instance a gun that may fire xeno acid and the black goo and such, otherwise laser guns and bullets dont suit them at all, and i doubt the jockeys use them.

I would be more worried about thought projections(holograms for one).. It is curious that the Engineers all seem to good physical speciamns(like Sacrificial Engineer)..and the Last Engineer was mixing it up pretty good with the facehugger. So some physical strenght was needed in their life,,,but there must have been some ESP type skill/weapons also in the mix..
