MemberFacehuggerSep-08-2012 4:58 PMJust remembered a thought I had just before I went to see prometheus: I thought that maybe david was going to get infected and that was going to be the reason for the acid in the xenos blood - coming from a part of davids body - maybe it was going to be acid for desolving food like a human to look more human or some other bodily function as he is a complex machine and machines have strange liquids sometimes in them :P . Also it could explain some of the design of the final xeno like is slight machine like look anyway just saying as obviously it was wrong...though it would of been quiet good if they made it make sense if you know what I mean...

Couple old posts, (there are tons more if you look) really fun theories:

MemberFacehuggerSep-08-2012 9:51 PMIf David had been infected i'm sure you picky people would have found reason to complain about a biological organism growing inside of a robot... that doesn't really make sense, quite frankly.

MemberOvomorphSep-09-2012 8:23 AMComplain about it? Of course some would have, but it would help make sense of the biomechanical aspect of the xeno. I believe that there is a type of bacteria that can eat petroleum...who's to say that an advanced race like the engineers could not make an organism that utilize the metal, plastics and silicone in a david unit?
Many cosmologists have questioned what it takes in the universe to create life. Does life have to be carbon based? What would we find out there and does life have to follow a path similar to what we understand here on earth? I gathered somewhere along the way that the xeno was silicone based. That may be something from the comics and not canon, but suppose they are based on vastly different elements from life known to us. There are many elements and David's physical body may consist of a large number of them.
The problem that I see with David as a host is simply the part where he probably does not have DNA for the xeno embryo to utilize. If a Xeno takes on traits of the host, it would need to access the genetic code of the host. I think that is the wall that would prevent the incubation. Suppose David did have a form of DNA...are they assembled or grown? I don't know that answer, but I strongly suspect that they are assembled.
ALL generalizations are WRONG!

AdminPraetorianSep-09-2012 8:36 AM@Fan; Yes the Xeno is Silicon based, Ash mentions it in "Alien", and I think so does Bishop in "Aliens".
In the novelisation of "Aliens" Bishop wonders if a Xeno could be implanted in an android. It isn't s crazy idea it's a really cool one actually. There are tons more links about the subject on this site, I just can't link them all, but do go take a peek. There are even a few pictures up on the web of David changing into a Xeno.

MemberTrilobiteSep-09-2012 9:10 AM@ Svanya,
almost, the Facehugger is silicon based, polarized silicon to be exact, the Xeno itself - we don't yet know.

MemberFacehuggerSep-09-2012 2:57 PMYes cool - didnt know about the post already about it all - thanks! Yes david could even have kind of 'blood' which he gains electricity from (like a battery) in the form of a mild acid - and that got taken as a trait and amplified by the goo kind of thing. Anyway many possibilities. And yes possibly the xeno its self is even more bio mechanical and the face hugger being silocon based just like allot of our technology - intersting - maybe this will come into it at on point still but doesnt look like it so far unfortunately (unless he was infected but it was taking allot longer to work its way :P - not likely of course).
And with all the current ideas/experiments in bio/organic computing and other things mentioned I am sure it could be made to seem very realistic. I mean like patient wrongly brought up the goo being organic - we have no idea what the hell it is it could of had very unsual characteristics (things we have never seen or thought of) like the others say but yes it doesn't look like this is there angle yet - damn - really could be cool.
Another thought : just looking at the engineers suits - bio technology - maybe there is no difference between organic and mechanical/computer/technology type stuff for them...
