MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 12:11 PMAs I see it, Shaw, Holloway, Cuddles and what we assume to be the engineer are all biological life forms
The black goo is apprarantly a bio-weapon.
Is the Deacon the first bio-mech?
Surely along that chain some mech must have been introduced if so?
If so, where? From a "not actually bio" engineer? From an additive in the goo?

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 1:32 PMThe alien ship is also very bio-mechanical in appearance. Did that come from David? No, I don't think so. All the bio-mechanical stuff is ancient – and I mean bloody ancient – probably billions of years old. These guys have been up to their tricks for a long time, and may themselves be working with the product of an ancient race of gods.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 12:26 PMMy theory has always been that David will meld with the black goo somehow to create the xenos that we all know.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 12:36 PMWell in the earlier ''making of'' vids, Ridley states that scientists encounter various forms of ''bio-mechanoids'', which might refer to the substance of the black liquid

AdminPraetorianSep-11-2012 12:45 PMFor Prometheus, I would assume it was the Engineers bio-suits and the ships.
Yeah, the "a Xeno becomes biomechanical thanks to David somehow" theme has been a big fixture here since this site started. I posted a couple of the threads, but there are tons more.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 1:04 PMDavid won't become a Xeno any more than Batman will become a werewolf!
The Last Engineer looks quite bio-mechanical. It's not clear whether or not he's wearing an advanced kind of suit, or whether it's part of his body. Either way, it looks bio-mechanical.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 1:21 PMbut how do we know its not from david i mean the xeno didnt just come from no where what about the lv426 jockey xeno we never did see what it looks like so mybe it from that. just thinking they look more like the decon before the lv426 jocky got taken out and they are at war with the decons on there home world

Custodian
MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 2:04 PMthere must be a mathematical formula for all the alien content to this date, or even some spreadsheet, whereby we can PREDICT the most likely NEXT STEP to get us the viewer to the point just before that derelict drops out of hyperspace one millimeter above the surface of LV-426
and softly takes up residence for trillennia awaiting discovery

MemberDeaconSep-11-2012 3:16 PMRidley said that the Technology of the Bio Mechanical Juggernaut ships is perhaps Millions or years old.
Taking hints from his other interviews and comments the Water Fall Scene is not the creation of mankind but life itself and so i think the scene shows the Engineers DNA gets broken down and dilutes into the water that contains basic microbes and bacteria and then the Engineers DNA reforms and merges and mutates these basic organisms to create complex life.
This could well hint to the Sacrificial scene being many many Millions of years ago and maybe even older than the Juggernaut crafts.
The ship in that scene does not look as Bio Mech if at all, but then we see so little of it.... so do they come across the Bio Mech a long time after the Sacrificial Scene?
Did they steal this tech from some other race?
My point being that there does seem a connection with the Juggernaut, the Space Jockey Suit and even the Pressure Suits the Engineers on LV 223 had and these all also have connection with the Xenos Bio Mechanical look.
And the stuff in the Urns seems to mutate Organisms to have Xeno Traits.
Thus maybe while the Goo in the Sacrificial scene and Urns may not be the same exactly, it could appear that the Engineers may had come across something they then engineered and incorporated into their suits, ships and even Bio Weapons.
Who knows maybe the Home World Elders are Robe Wearing Mechanical Flying Saucer Flying race who have no knowledge of the Xeno? Or all this Bio Mech Tech Who knows.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 4:57 PMWell, assuming that the engineers were developing a bioweapon to be used for the destruction of humanity...it's safe to assume that the biomechanical ships/armor came from all of that military research. It's likely that their experiments in weaponizing their mutagen created a powerful creature that massively enhanced their tech before it ate them.
Look at what military spending has done for us. ;)

MemberFacehuggerSep-11-2012 6:00 PMYes engineer suits look bio-mech there was green goo on the control panel - possibly bio and the buttons on the control panel were squidgy - maybe bio-mech ? I am guessing lots of there technology has maybe no separation between it being biological or otherwise.
And yes maybe David could of become part of the formula but because he seemed to be immune to the black goo this probably wont happen now :s ...unless only part of him is :D ....

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 6:05 PMOr do they normally use the goo to impregnate the humans and create loads of Cuddles? Cultivating them for some other need? Much like the facehuggers were propogated for a certain purpose.
One of these Cuddles does to David what it did to the Engineer maybe, but the results are mutated due to Davids 'makeup'
Do you think Ridley's definition of "bio-mechanoid" was just the representation of these forms likened to Giger's designs in look and feel? - i.e. the Hammerpede - as opposed to Gigers actual realisation?

Engineering
MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 7:27 PMI didn't mean that David himself turns into a xeno. What I meant was David's makeup or code or android dna mixes with the black goo. As if on purpose, maybe by the engineers as the final engineer seemed to admire him.
What I really hope will happen is a mixture of android, human and engineer to create the ultimate-badass-movie-monster-alien-robot-human-hybrid! Or Ubmarhh for short lol.

Lol Engineering that made me laugh.
On a serious note, I like your idea. I have never thought of it that way before. Im not sure how he would mix with the black goo though.

MemberXenomorphSep-13-2012 4:23 AMWhat does bio mech mean ? Biological mechanical ? The jaws in my mouth is biological mechanical . biological because it is flesh and mechanical brcause it moves and is controlled to fulfil a function : chewing and talking .
I dunno maybe I am wrong.
