I think he means we are not getting the 40 minutes of footage Fox promised us.

You mean they aren't going to put the rest of the deleted scenes on the blu-ray??

so... 40 mins of deleted/alternate scenes isnt happening. Im not necessarily surprised by this as i was initially under the impression the the additional footage was clocking in at closer to approximately 25 extra mins. fine. However, they better not be saying that the only additional footage going on the blu ray is whats already been noted on the dvd (10 mins). What are we inferring? that we only get 10 mins of additional scenes or that we get somewhere around 25 mins of footage (not 40)?

Thanks for not linking to the other forum. Place is like one troll posting 10,000 times in an hour while the non-English speaking admin doesn't do anything about it. I'd say there is still going to be an extended cut at some point. The fact Fox is being so mysterious about it suggests that there will be multiple releases I think.

the company dealing with the launch of the DVD/bluray in October has put me on her contact list, so I'll be sharing the latest (accurate) information about Prometheus's DVD/bluray content when she sends me the Official Press Release. I suspect RESTORATION CUT (02:30:00) will not be on any media pre-Xmas 2012 - but who's to say what'll happen [i]'theatrically'[/i] i.e. [url=http://www.whatis101112.com]whatis101112[/url]'s RELAUNCH of said film.

So what's going to happen on this blog when the DVD is released and there is only 25 minutes of deleted scenes of which we have already seen 10 minutes of extra footage ? Oh dear I shudder to think the comments that will be posted !!! Poor Lindelof He might have to flee the country before the end of the year ...........

The error appears to be in the movie run time only, first posted as 2 hrs. 40 mins, now adjusted to 2 hrs.. 4 mins. Doesn't reflect any other content.

Exactly, that was probably just a net time when the screens were mocked up/originally devised. I think everyone might be jumping the gun as to the impact on what we are expecting - which fundamentally is the theatrical cut with the scenes as extra content in another menu

yeah. i think the last 4 posters are probably touching on the truth. i think it will all be as initially anticipated: theatrical cut w/ 30-40 mins of deleted scenes. Although it doesnt matter to me (because im purchasing the 4 disc blu ray edition), are we to understand that the blu ray will have more alternate/deleted content than the dvd? also, i noticed that the extensive documentary (the gods are angry) appears to be exclusive to the 4 disc blu ray set. In other words, it seems as though the 2 disc blu ray release will not include the aforementioned documentary.

....i will be slightly pissed if they do not release all the content on DVD...i do not even own a blu-ray player....and to be honest i have never seen anything in that format.....so should I?.... is it really that great?

All the more reason to get the big blu ray edition. DVD just cant contain all this footage, unless of course they make like a 6 disc set or something.
