Mini space jockey painting

I like it! But why a child space jockey? and why the Shaw piggy back? :-)

lol... I like it, i think the Engineer Shaw went face to face with may had been a little taller, only a little mind...

I also like it a lot for it's mood and atmosphere. But I'd like to find out more about the story behind it, too! Do you mind sharing the thoughts you had when you started painting it?

Who lives in that house with the pitched roof and chimney?

Yabbihands, your paintings (both style and content) are fine as they are, I especially like the crows on the yellow car, and (for me) you don't have to go whoring your art with cheap Hollywood tie-ins. Even though I don't agree with the design of the bipedal (i.e. not born in his chair) boy Space-jockey and the piggybacking seems far too innocent for a Giger-inspired subject, "I love," your little piggybacking Shaw, love it. There's something just haunting about it, as an image/idea - just wish it was MORE PERSONALLY RELEVANT, hence more DISTURBING, ya know?

...absolutely love it...so weird and wonderful and very open for interpretation...that's what makes a good piece like this tick....awesome job!

thanks guys, glad u like it and dislike it. i figure if there are adult space jockies there must be children also. shaw couldnt make friends with the adults. when she met a child space jockey they become friends and travels back to earth where they stay at her parents old farm. lol. I didnt want to paint another giger because it has been done too much. thought i would put my own spin on the space jockey design. i was also obsessing over Noomi Rapace at the time. haha
