MemberOvomorphSep-17-2012 7:27 AMSo yea, Does Lindelof's statement that the cave paintings may have been a warning relate a strong likelihood that LV 223 is Leviticus 223? if so, are bible references now tenable?

Any thoughts on the first idea? That the Engineer's were either meaning to use us as bio-weapon hosts, like Weyland-Yutani in Alien-Aliens-Etc
Or Even that the intent may just be subjugation. To re-assert dominance, as we would over David or Bishop, or a Mob of Synthetics for example?

MemberOvomorphSep-24-2012 9:30 PMWell it seems that Lindelof is hinting that they wanted us to go there for sure, but maybe it's not as straight forward as an invitation or a warning to take caution and it's more of a deception. Maybe we should consider what he's saying about something happening in between their arrival and our arrival at the outpost world, and everything that perished. That things can be highly speculative and we might think things are one way or another and end up with something completely different: an invitation or a warning when really it's kind of neither.
It's more like a trick or a deception if they do wish to use us in some way or punish us at some time when we're ready.
Leading us to the light and truth about the creators, only to use us in their war against the creators like Lucifer does with his fallen angels.

MemberOvomorphSep-24-2012 9:44 PMIt's not about Christ being an Engineer, it's about David eventually becoming more of an anti-hero, and coming to represent the anti-christ for a while after his rebirth. The opposite of all the Christmas/religious connections and what one might expect. The opposite of what some people think the story is about based on the 2000 years ago thing. It's about the formation of Empires, and the disintegration of empires, but mainly formations with the Weyland-Yutani Empire being the crumbling remnants of the Weyland kingdom + the Yutani kingdom.
The Engineers were mad at the Roman Empire, but not only for the Jesus thing.
They were also mad about their expansionism, and other things, and Jesus was not an Engineer.
It's kind of a part of their value system now to not be dominated by an Empire.. They also can't have too many of us joining together under powerful/influential rulers.
But it's also about: chaotic kings, the disintegration/reforming//reshaping/assimilation/conquering/dominance/combination of cultures which is sometimes associated with the death of a king. The kingdom could be affected in many different ways depending on the circumstances surrounding the kings death.
