And please, don't post in all capitals, it is akin to SHOUTING and not very pleasant to read..............

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 5:34 AMYes I have heard this specifically about the spain shoot and the Paradise deleted scene which would have included the original ending. Although I've heard a few different things so it seems they fed different versions of what they were doing to people even indirectly attached to the shoot. Flooded them with multiple stories of what the extra stuff was for, while offering no confirmation of what was really going on yet. Which is probably gonna be a theme in the series sometime. Flooding the audience with alternate potentially valid answers to some of the unanswered questions And you know about all the secrecy. What I believe happened is they originally planned to film the sequel in secret... filmed some parts of the sequel, but will still need to complete the sequel. And now I have a good reason to believe they will attempt to film the third movie at the same time as the second under one budget as they may have attempted to do this first time, because some of the second is complete. And probably because Prometheus did well enough to ensure that the sequel and its sequel can be completed.

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 5:48 AMIt certainly would make sense as they were in spain for 3 months filming.the story goes in generated 1 million euros to the spanish economy but the filming was halted as it was too expensive.it doesnt take 3 months and a 250 crew to work out its too expensive, just a smokescreen i feel.there were other parts filmed on a alicante beach also that never made the movie.im sure all will be revealed on 10.11.12,and i dont feel this is a release date for the dvd, blue ray etc, whats the point in that when its being released at different times all over the planet!!there is bigger news to come!

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 7:13 AM@Patient...There are quite a few discussions about this. It's talked about in this thread as well as a few others.

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 9:42 AMdid Spain shoot ACTUALLY TAKE PLACE? I know it was 'rostered' but...
were the crew shipped out?
were the cast pitched into the pool?
are there receipts from hotels/caterers/extras and such?
or was this just 'something that got cancelled due to budgetary measures' some time in late 2009, early 2010?

MemberOvomorphSep-18-2012 10:10 AM@FreePlanet: I believe that at this point there's nothing officially confirmed by FOX or any other 'reliable' source. It's a mystery to me how Wikipedia would have obtained the following information:
"In September 2011, filming moved to the Ciudad de la Luz audiovisual complex in Alicante, Spain. Shooting areas included the complex's large water tank, and a nearby beach. The complex was booked from August 22, 2011, through to December 10, 2011, and set construction occurred from August until late September. Approximately 250 people worked on the three month-long Spain shoot, generating over €1 million in the local economy."
However, we've all seen that red suit in a corridor of the Prometheus, in interviews with Scott and in an exhibition of Prometheus movie props and sets in Paris. Doesn't it remarkably look like it's been designed for use in an aquatic environment? Well, I could be wrong there, of course since we haven't seen it in action yet.
*EDIT*
As far as I remember, there were also rumors that only Pearce, Theron and Fassbender were signed for shooting in Alicante. So if filming really took place, it could have been a scene for a sequel, a flashback or footage for another dream sequence viewed by David. I tried to find the thread where this was discussed, without success. Does anyone of you folks remember?

MemberDeaconSep-18-2012 12:16 PMYes good point the Red Suits do look like Deep Sea Diving Suits.
And yes it would make perfect sense to film scenes for Prometheus 2.
If we look at the last scene prior to the Deacon, that scene only has Shaw and David.
Now we know those two get onto another Juggernaut and it would make sense to while they shot the scene where Shaw Finds Davids head, then surely while they had the actors on Location and also had the Juggernaut Set up, then it would make sense to use that set and film some scenes right there and then.
If they dont like the scenes then they just dont use them and re-shoot.
Where as if they shoot some after Prometheus then if they use them and like the look of them it saves time and budget.
I also think when they make Prometheus 2 that there would be a lot of Prometheus 3 worked on at the same time... like Back to the Future 2 and 3.
Makes sense as far as Budget and Time and also with Ridley not getting any younger.

MemberNeomorphSep-18-2012 12:41 PM@HAL. Yeah, i remember reading something, somewhere, about David looking at Weylands dreams when he was in his cryo sleep, on the Prometheus but they either didn't film it or it will be in the deleted or alternate scenes. However, i doubt, very much, that they spent all that time shooting in Spain just for a dream sequence. I also doubt that they would have gone to all that trouble, setting up in Spain and spending months there only to completely ditch the whole thing.
I defo think that scenes have been filmed that will be used for another project (sequel) maybe.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphSep-20-2012 4:00 AMi've asked this question a few times on a few boards, does anyone know how contract and union stuff works for a shoot for a sequel that no one is contracted at that point to be taking part in? I ask because if it is a scene for the sequel we won't probably know till it is coming out. that sounds like something they would want to keep locked away simply because it was outside of the span of peoples contracts at that point in time.

MemberChestbursterSep-28-2012 12:07 AMits for 10.11.12.! i have theorized(as have others) that that date will be a short film connecting alien and prometheus. 3 months sounds like long enough to make us forget about the xenomorph :)

MemberDeaconAug-04-2015 5:34 PMPosted in another thread but it has relivence to this Topic in part so here is a extract.
Doing some digging it was reported that they shot some scenes in Ciudad de la Luz audiovisual complex in Alicante, Spain.
Now below is that studio complex and we can see it already has a Water Tank...

It appears that the Studios main use for this Tank is to produce Tsunamieffects for movies.....
Water Tank
Could this thus had been used to shoot the Exodus Part Waters Scene? i know a lot of the River Nile shots was done in Fuerteventura.
So who knows...... we know Ridley did hire the Water Tank and Beach Area near by for supposed Scenes in Prometheus the only based off Lindeloffs draft that would fit would be..
EXT. PASTORAL BEACH - DAY
and
EXT. AZURE SEA - DAY - MOVING
finally
EXT. YACHT - DAY
Only required cast for this was Fasbender and Pearce and 5 scantily clad Women.
